This restaurant is great. It’s a bit “dated” inside but the staff are friendly, the food is home-style and delicious. The portion sizes are respectable and the prices don’t break the bank. Be careful: the parking lot is VERY slippery in the winter. This place is a reliable option for delicious food in the Orillia area. Would not hesitate to return!
I was in Orillia for work and wanted to grab a lunch, quick Google search recommended me this restaurant, didn’t knew how historic this restaurant is, apparently they are in business for almost 100 years. It was very busy when I arrived and after waiting a bit got my seat, I ordered their burger. Buns were soft and floppy, patty was juicy and seasoned perfectly, topped with malted cheese and crispy bacons made for an one delicious burger. Also my server was very friendly. Highly recommended!
This is a classic small dinner experience. The food was authentic, home-cooked dishes served by the friendliest and most accommodating staff. My wife can't eat anything deep fried or heavily oiled, and our server made a point to suggest options where others would simply let us figure it out on our own. While sitting and eating you can hear how many "regulars" frequent the restaurant. When they walk in they're greeted like family, and from the sounds of laughter you know it's not their first time. I highly recommend this place for a great meal, and to uplift your spirits.
Just visited again for the first time in almost 10 years and not a thing has changed! The interior is pretty much identical which is nice since it's always been a cozy atmosphere and the food was fantastic! Best breakfast I've had in years. Friendly servers, and relatively short wait time Especially considering how much food you're getting for the price
This charming, unpretentious diner is what I love about small towns. It's not trying to be anything other than a place to eat delicious, homemade comfort food. It's unpretentious. Diner standards are found here all day. They have all day breakfast, lunch & dinner so that you can order what you want any time of day. My companion & I came for an early dinner. We ordered soups of the day: tomato macaroni & beef barley. Then I ordered Salisbury steak, she the broasted chicken platter off the dinner menu. We shared onion rings. The portions were so generous we had to get a "doggy" bag. The food was delicious. A shoutout to our server Clara. She was friendly, attentive & dedicated to providing great customer service. She kept checking on us, accommodating all our requests. Accessibility: 4 Although it's all one level, the washrooms & aisles are tight if you use a mobility device. Nonetheless, the food is worth it. Definitely will return.
We had breakfast this morning - old family-run diner experience. Very friendly staff, fair prices and delicious food. The portions were big too! We will definitely be back
Amazing place! Couldn’t have asked for somewhere better for a family day lunch. Proper old school diner atmosphere, busy but worth the wait. Already planning our next trip! Kid-friendliness: Went the extra mile by giving y daughter her drink in a to-go cup.
We had lunch today, the food was excellent, soup was fresh and delicious and the burgers are like old fashioned burgers. Definitely recommend this place. Staff was overly friendly.Food: 5/5
I just paid 9.00 for just a chicken salad sandwich no lettuce tomato or anything. Is this correct. One year ago price was 6.50 has food gone up that much in this diner???
excellent! staff was very friendly and the food was amazing especially for the price point! would recommend and definitely eat here again :
