August 3rd, 2021. 7 PM ordered with a nice young lady on the phone. I am so glad I got a different perspective of this place. I've seen many reviews about this place and it was literally a cold hard decision because there's not many places up here in Durham, that serves Caribbean foods. But for what it's worth.. it was a great experience for me. The food was awesome. I got a curry goat and 2 oxtail dinners w/ rice and peas, a large serving of slaw, dumplings, and plantains. I'm not all about the plantains here because it was a bit oily, but the dumplings and dinners were bomb. The severing was quite filling. I give it a 5 stars
I ate here a couple of years ago and it wasn't great. Average food with way too much rice. I recently decided to give them another chance and ordered on Uber Eats. Order accepted and then 30 minutes later cancelled without explanation, leaving us all hungry and looking for somewhere else to order from. Oh well, probably for the best anyways. Looking at the ratings I don't think they'll be around for much longer.
I don’t understand why people be so hard on black owned businesses. They get busy because they’re food is good! Sometimes you have to wait! It’s common sense. I love the new boneless curry and chicken wings ontop of mostly everything. Not everyday you will get the best food from a restaurant they’re businesses with different staff. Things might not always go as planned but 9/10 times I have always got good food from this store. Thank you sunrise!
I love this location of sunrise they always have fresh food and kind customer service highly recommend with family also for a individual meals. I really recommend this sunrise for meal prep… if your getting into shape and need a consistency of healthy food for breakfast, lunch & dinner this is the perfect place! Vegetarian options: Various Amount Of Options For Vegetarians I Actually Love it! Returned to this location after I heard they were under new management and all I can say is Wow. The jerk chicken and jerk pork are my favourite so flavourful and addicting lol and the stew chicken is also excellent. I come here 3 times a week now! Sometimes I sit and watch the tv they put cable in the store now so it’s enjoyable. The dumpling is unreal too
Sunrise Caribbean Whitby Ordered two meals tonight and it took just shy of two hours to arrive yes, I used ubereats because I have little ones at home and couldn’t pick up but it wasn’t the drivers fault at all!, I placed two calls to the restaurant to find out what was happening with my order. The final call was because the Uber driver was stuck there waiting to collect the food and we were messaging on the app about it. The food then arrives and is missing 3 separate items! Half the food is cold and had to be microwaved, another one of the items is out lying loosely in the plastic bag and one of the containers was clearly broken so I had to catch it quickly from spilling all over the place. I call them back for the third time and let them know about the missing items and her answer was “the best I can do is if you want to come here I could give it to you for free”.. for free, what?!? I already paid for it and I’m not driving 20 minutes there and 20 minutes back when I just paid for delivery for that reason! Thankfully Uber will be giving me a refund in 3-10 days on the missing items but nonetheless this is some really POOR customer service!
This place is such a scam buyers be warned!! Ordered from this place four times now and they never get it right. Always missing sides from my order. I called in today informing about my missing items. I was told not to worry about it because it was a small. This place needs to be audited by the government. Theft!!!!
I would honestly give this restaurant less if I could. My wife ordered from here thru Uber eats and when we we were missing items from our order we were told that we should either come and pick it up ourselves which defeats the purpose of ordering from Uber eats, or contact Uber Eats for a refund?!?. The first person that we spoke when we called the restaurant was extremely rude, when we were explaining what was missing. I honestly wish that I would have seen their low rating prior to ordering. We just wanted to have something different after a long day at work. Guess that I will know better for the next time.
Very disappointed. I ordered and paid for coleslaw and did not get it in my bag, also asked for hot sauce on the side, which I did not get. I am not rich enough to pay for things and not get them. These people need to get their act together.
Ordered buy one get one for wings suppose to be 16 to 20 wings get 12 for 29 dollars and change. Called got told they would call back to rectify and never did. Since it was and Uber thing told Uber and they gave 5 dollars back when really like half the order was missing. Not the first time I've had issues here but will be the last.
