Sullivan Painting Service Inc

One of my friends invited me to dinner at their home at the Tacoma Country and Golf Club. I fell in love with their multi-colored bathroom. It looked so joyful and fun. The painting firm was Sullivan Painting Service owned by Kevin Sullivan. Kevin is easy to talk with, asks the right questions and besides knowing the answer follows through with excellent work.

At a chamber social I asked a friend if he had a recommendation for a commercial painter. He responded with the name of Kevin Sullivan - another friend overheard the answer and added his name to my short list of satisfied customers. Now, I'm adding my name. Good guy with friendly workers who actually know their stuff!

I met Kevin Sullivan, Owner when he was measuring my office to quote a job for my employer at the time. I was in the process of purchasing a house in need of exterior paint at the time and asked him to come out and quote the work, which he did. We got busy and didn't get around to having them actually do the work until two years later. But when they did, I was thoroughly impressed. Kevin's quote was detailed and fair. Their contract clearly laid out what work they would perform, and what responsibilities fell on me as the customer (which was virtually nothing). When the crew showed up, they were courteous, professional, and mindful of the fact that I work from home and did not make excessive noise or do anything to disturb me. In fact, on the first day they were at the house, I was very sick with the flu and nearly slept right through them pressure-washing the house. They pointed out that the screws holding on our gutters were too small, and helped me pick out the right ones for them to use when they re-installed them. The finished product was superb. Per the contact, they had re-caulked the siding and trim where necessary, and every surface was perfectly painted, as expected. They took care to cover every bush and plant, and even suggested I move my truck when they thought there was even a remote chance of overspray reaching it. They took great care in taping and masking the house to avoid imprefections and wasted paint. They even made sure to keep their equipment out of the way of my garage door so that I could come and go as needed during the day, despite our tight driveway with limited space. Their quote was competitive, and there were no surprises when it came time to pay the bill. I paid nearly the same amount for a group of friends to paint a much smaller house a few years prior, and although I was happy to give them my money and was not disappointed by the finished product, there is just no substitute for hiring a true team of professionals like Sullivan's.

I have had Kevin paint my commercial building that houses my business twice. He has always done excellent work and has used the best of products. I would definitely recommend him.

Kevin Sullivan was horrible to work with. He blames the customer for mistakes his crew makes and does not manage his workload well. His contract is terribly slanted in his favor and he is unwilling to compromise. He quit mid way through the job and did not refund any of my deposit. Do NOT give him any money up front he isn't honest.
