Our favorite forest! Air is fresh and trails are soft. With up hill and down slope, these trails are perfect for a good walkout! A gem in the city! Free parking, human and dogs are welcome! There is also a Dog Park outside; one section for big dogs and the other section for smaller dogs.
If you've driven along 407 and marveled at the fall colours in this beautiful patch of trees on the intersection of Bathurst and 407, being inside and walking the trails is a much more beautiful experience. The fall colours this year in 2022 are stunning all over and this place was blooming. Trails aren't very long but very enjoyable.
Surprisingly crowed a winter day on 2023-01-29. The path is well beaten by foot traffic in spite of 20cm of snow on the flat. But still have more than enough room for snowshoeing if walking on the side. More interestingly, the snowshoeing trek is amazing in the Richmond Hill Golf course across Barthurst street. A warm thank you to the Samaritan who has helped me to recover the snowshoes I forgot in the parking when I left. Without your quick thinking reaction, running after my car to notify, this would have been an expensive absent-minded blunder.
There is a pretty forest with a good flat dirt path that goes in a loop in it. No river, but it’s good if you want to walk without disturbances. I like it!
We come here all seasons long. Very nice trails Easy access from Hwy 7. Not too many parkings tho.
Loved this little park. The entire trail is filled with tall trees and shades. The path is well maintained and is not difficult at all.
Beautiful trail but be cautious of tree branches and roots if you take the smaller paths. It can get busy at times on warm days but the main trails are wide enough to pass comfortably. I find it is easy to get disoriented if you're not paying attention as there aren't any signs on the paths. Photos below taken around noon in early Nov 2021.
It might not look it but Sugarbush is a dense forest like area in bordered by major roads. It is good for a little hike. A somewhat recent addition is a small dog off leash area on its west side on Thornhill Woods, right beside the parking lot for the park.
An oasis in the neighborhood, the area of the forest is relatively small. The outter most loop is about 2km in length. So you may have to say to the same person you run into, hello, hello again, hello once more. It can be busy at times.
Every time every season different colour different look, no doubt always great place to visit
