They do not take you in as a priority unless you have a gun to your head. I have been waiting for outpatient treatments for months and even after going to the hospital due to feeling as if I could not take care of myself, I was told to meditate or go outside and kept on the waiting list for outpatient programs. Sudbury does not have the proper help for treatment unless you are about to harm yourself. I’d suggest heading elsewhere for immediate help because they simply cannot provide it.
Given the current state of mental illness in this city, there should be more help available for those who are seeking it. When I brought my loved one here, all they did was provide them with a phone number to call for services that might I add weren’t available when called during a weekday and to visit their family doctor. Why is it called a “crisis centre”? Does a person have to walk in with a gun to their head to get help right away??? What about those who are finally going to get help after years of being begged by a family member??? All they’re given is a phone number instead of talk therapy!!! Just horrible!!!!!! Given the fact that these reviews are quite negative, maybe it’s a sign that something needs to change? Maybe these people need a wake up call! What if it was their family member??
My experiences have been REALLY BAD SEVERAL OCCASIONS for my physical medical experience and mental health issue. Had to go to Toronto for my physical issues and found poison from leaky gull bladder problems and fibromyalgia symptoms from Medication . The Sudbury programs from HSN for mental health are Mood groups and Changing Behaviours which are poorly designed and instructed with repetition and lack of progression to succeed. VERY DISSAPPOINTING SERVICES
They didn't help at all, and then made a appointment for me for a psychiatrist and blamed me for the doctor not showing up. 0/10 If your in a crisis go to a clinic or hospital instead!
Not helpful at all. How this place is still recommended is beyond reason.
Have mixed feelings about this place. Not many services in this city. This clinic means well, but seems to be plagued by traditional clinic models/beuratratic models that are ultimately ablelist. Had to visit a family member who was unwell overseas, and notified them. Returned home to the clinic to be asked to politely leave pretty much and lost my position in the group, for the second time. For an organization that claims to "practice harm reduction," their no nonsense attitude with attendance is actually dangerous. After told I could no longer participate , again, no other services were offered to me in the immidiate situation. This could be very dangerous for people and lead to crisis. Fortunatley, I have other supports in my life to go to after experiences like this. While others do not. This clinic should better acknowledge the opioid crisis and when people have a will to get better they should be supported regardless of absences. There was pretty much no sympathy for my ill loved one, and was told to "make sure my phone works"...
It’s good that this is available but when I was looking for help with addiction, they were quite rude with me. The time schedule was impossible for me to attend and I didn’t end up getting the help I needed. Others may have a better experience
Left here crying with no help years ago, as I could hear staff speaking about me condescendingly. I would rather die than return. I need help today but refuse to go back here.
Overall I’m grateful that these services are available, however there is room for improvement.
Staff I spoke to was horrible. Very sterile with no personality. Wait was a waste of time.
