A family run store, nestled in the mountains of Johnson, Vermont that sells high quality, well priced art supplies to budding and established artist.
It's a love story.....<3
Eight years ago, with the help of painter and former Studio Store owner, Andera Pearlman, Kyle Nuse (a native Vermonter) and Michael Mahnke (a native Nebraskan that dwelled in NYC) meet in the Vermont Studio Center's dinning hall one fateful evening- the very dinning hall that The Studio Store was founded in in 1984.
Two years later the couple married at the VSC and (so they thought) permanently located themselves in Manhattan where Michael already had an art studio and held a position as Collections Manager at The Dedalus Foundation (the estate of Robert Motherwell). In 2010 the couple had their daughter, Olive Rose and started to long for a quieter life in the country closer to family. It was then that Michael and Kyle reached out to Andrea and mentioned that should she ever want to retire and sell The Studio Store - the establishment that she had run for 30 years- to please keep them in mind.
Sure enough the couple got the call from Andrea, and on June 1st, 2014, Kyle, Michael Olive made the monumental move out of the city back to Johnson where it all began.
On October 6th 2014 Andrea graciously passed "the paintbrush" over to Kyle and Micheal and so here we are today.......totally honored to serve the community and be the conduit to people's creativity. <3
