Super friendly, patient and helpful staff. They were happy to provide allergy ingredient information which I very much appreciate. The flavor of these treats is so good. I was visiting from across the border so I may need to order these for the holidays once the danger of melting is diminished. I don't recall another chocolate shop with offerings this tasty and attractive. Whoever is designing the truffles is very talented and deserves lots of hugs
I live in Geneva Switzerland and I've never tasted chocolates like these ones. You cannot miss visiting this store if you're in Toronto. I love their truffles and almond clusters. Absolutely fantastic!
This is now my favorite chocolatier. Ordered the day before Valentine's day, had it ready in 2 hours. My partner loved the chocolate to the point she wouldn't let me try it. Would strongly recommend them to everyone. Only issue is no parking.
February 2023 update - went to pick up an order and none of the 3 people working in the shop said hello. Only 1 was busy helping another customer. I let the lack of greeting slide and decided to buy a few more items as their chocolates are delicious. I gave the items to a staff member to ring them up but she didn't and I waited as I had no idea what she did with my items. Had to flag her down again from the back to ask her so that I could pay and leave. 2022 review - their website is easy to navigate. Ordered truffles & bonbons as gifts that were delivered. Stubbe called folks to confirm their addresses and the delivery date. One person asked for a later date and they accommodated the request. Presentation was beautiful: chocolates arrived in a nice bag with festive tissue paper and a bow. Chocolate were delicious and really appreciated. Professional service and gourmet products. Thank you!
Received a box of 24 truffles from Stubbe and was absolutely blown away. My father used to buy me champagne truffles when I was a kid and my mom went out of her way to find some in Toronto and stumbled onto your website. She said she called the location and got a custom box based on recommendations and I was totally blown away by the presentation and taste of the chocolates. My favourite no surprise are the Kir Royale and Champagne ones but was pleasantly surprised by the others I have tried. I would definitely recommend Stubbe Chocolates to anyone looking for a nice gift : Very beautiful craftsmanship and lovely delicate taste!
Amazing chocolate confectioners!! Only quality ingredients used, in the old world tradition! We purchased an adorable chocolate cabin for our Christmas trip to New York. Our French Auntie was delighted!! Stubbe is expensive yet worth every penny with their quality and artistry!
Our go-to shop for special cakes and chocolates. Everything we've enjoyed has been superb. I've noticed some negative reviews saying the sponge in their cakes was stale. In Germany and Austria, I've found they prefer cakes a bit on the drier side than North Americans are used to. This works well because the frostings and fillings tend to be so rich. Daniel and his staff make superlative European-style cakes. I've enjoyed Sacher torte at the Hotel Sacher and Café Demel, the two most famous bakers of this cake in Vienna, and Stubbe's version is on a par with them. HIGHLY recommended as are their other cakes.
We've been getting the amaretto cake here for years and it's rich, decadent flavour has stood the test of time. They also have beautiful chocolate bottles filled with an assortment of truffles that make a nice extra gift!
We ordered a birthday cake with them but it tasted mediocre at best . Cake wasn’t sweetened appropriately and neither the chocolate nor the sponge was any better than a store bought cake.
Purchased a bag of chocolate covered coffee beans, a milk chocolate bar and a chocolate dipped strawberry for someone on Valentine's Day. The beans were strong but the chocolate complimented it well. The bar was very smooth. Though it was busy, staff was considerate which is uncommon in retail I've seen. They were courtesy to all their customers even when the store was packed with customers. Their products maybe be marginally priced but worth a buy especially as a gift or a rare treat from commercial chocolate.
