There are so many things that I love about Strodes. Their daily lunches are delicious and the Potato Bacon Parmasan soup is without a doubt the best soup in Canada. Period. No debate. I've been grabbing dog bones from their freezer since I discovered the place and when I asked for an entire cow femur for my canine they were happy to oblige. I've bought their chicken wings by the pound, their smoked ribs, and their flank steaks. All of which were quality. They also have frozen foods which are delicious and my wife really loved their coconut shrimp. Strodes is one of the special spots in Brantford.
Really great food at a super cheap price. They sell BBQs and food. They're also a butcher. The cabbage rolls are 2.50 each. And amazing!! They have cold salads. Sandwiches. Soups and more. Reminds me of denningers, only better!! Will definitely be coming back for more!! Good job strides!! 25 bucks and the two of us have 2 meals each. 4 meals basically for 25 bucks.. . Bang for the buck forsure!
Friendly people, huge portions. My hot lunch was delicious. I'd go back just to be greeted by that amazing smell again. Wish I lived a bit closer to here.
Mixed reviews for this place - over several experiences. Pro shop is good, we’ll stocked and staffed with someone who can help you out. Hot meals are great -usually offering a wide selection. Store is clean and well staffed. 4/5 times I’ve made a raw meat purchase from their butcher counter have been odd - orders placed over the phone forgotten, cuts of meat not as expected or staff being “holier than thou” with knowledge sharing. Just a weird vibe. They’re local so we continue to support while still seeking other options, if/when possible.
I haven’t been to Strodes in years. I can’t remember why I stopped going there but I quickly was reminded today. I called in advance to see to see if they sold ham bones for a soup I was making. They didn’t have exactly what I was looking for but had similar which I said was fine. I arrived within a half hour and told the gentleman at the counter what I was looking for and explained what I was told on the phone. He went to look for what I asked for and then said they didn’t have it. When I explained again that I was told they had fresh not smoked bones then someone else helped me which I believe is an owner. He brought me over to show me and as he was walking away from me I thought I heard him say something about beef. So I said again I was looking for ham. Well, the man turned and snapped at me in front of my young son saying that he needed to know what soup I was making and that’s why he was asking the question in a very snippy tone. I was completely shocked that I came in in a good mood, calm and was snapped at by a total stranger for no reason. He realized obviously by my face and apologized but honestly there was no need for him to snap at me in the first place. It’s a strange way to treat a person you have never met before let alone a paying customer. I felt completely belittled. I like to support local but I will think twice before I spend my money here again.

Fantastic sandwiches. Staff are always friendly and helpful. I enjoy the spicy chicken sandwich. Keep up the good work, will continue to visit frequently.
Best lunch menu in the city for my money. Sandwiches are well worth the money $7 for two chicken schnitzels with your choice of tomatoes, lettuce, pickles, onions both raw and for 25 cents sautéed, hot peppers and for a extra 25 cents each sauerkraut or a slice of cheese. Plus they have mayo, bbq sauce and mustard to top it off. They have a good soup and salad bar as well where the soup changes daily. If your in the area it's worth a try. They also have a full on butcher case with aot of various types of chicken, pork, beef and turkey. They usually run decent specials so it's worth it to keep your eye out for them
Strodes catered my wedding on October 8th 2022. They were punctual, the gentlemen serving us were extremely polite and organized and all of my guests were talking about how good the food was. We were running a few minutes behind and they waited patiently while we did our enterance and we truly appreciated that. I would definitely recommend Strodes to all of my family and friends for their events.
To the team at Strodes we would like to send a HUGE thank you! They always go above and beyond but this week was special. We special requested Chinese fondue meat and boy did they deliver! It was perfectly thin and beautifully stacked. Rolling was a breeze and the quality was impeccable! You made this dinner beyond perfect!
