This is a fantastic library. The staff are amazing and cannot be more helpful. Through the pandemic, they continued with their usual patient and tactful assistance and I have witnessed, and been involved with, gentle humorous interactions. Love this place!

The library is beautiful and has bright light which is fabulous! I come to the library to be able to focus and study as they are usually quiet. Today I felt like I was in a coffee shop and very disappointed when I told the ladies at the desk that. They said well school is out and the kids are here. A library is a place to go find books, study and focus. I was very disappointed that the kids were not respectful of the people around them. Very noisy, loud and distracting. Not impressed. And the silent room I can hear people going up and down the stairs, so not so “silent”. The library is a place for everyone, but also for respecting others.
I love this Library. It has many pleasant areas to sit. Good lighting and friendly staff. You can ask for books to be brought in or purchased and quite often your desired reading will be offered. Take a wander over to city hall to check out the spiral staircase.
I have had library cards for innumerable different libraries since I was a child and never run into the issues that I have dealt with with this library in the last year. I have been charged multiple times for "lost" books that then magically appear on the shelves and "damaged" books that barely have normal library wear and tear - and, to be clear, look exactly the same as when I checked them out as 99.9% of the time they don't even get taken out of the bag that I got them from the library in before they are due and I return them. Additionally, the summer reading program was extremely disappointing and there is next to no programming for kids, etc. Do yourself a favour and drive a few extra minutes into the city. That is my plan going forward.
My place of peace. Very quiet, good collection of books, magazines, latest movies. And staff always ready to help. Large underground parking lot with two hours free parking.
The Strathcona County Library is a fabulous local resource. As a mom with young children, we really enjoy the kids space. It's welcoming with a great selection of books and toys to keep the kids engaged. We also really enjoy the mystety bags which are fabulous for when you want ro switch up your books but are short on time. The shining star for us, however, has been the programing. Both of my boys have done baby lap time and we have learned so many songs and have had the opportunity yo connect with other parents, which was especially beneficial during covid. Now that my kids are a little older, we also really enjoy the family story times and discovery hour. Highly recommend giving them a try!
A very nice lady helped me get into genealogy database. She gave me some forms to use as a guideline and also encouraged me to enroll in a course in September. Her name was Sylvia. Thank you so much. Paul Sutton
Strathcona County Library is all you could ask for in a library. They have a nice cafe, some quiet nooks, a learning centre, and a kid's area. I look forward to bringing my daughter here every couple of weeks to get new books. The staff are helpful and courteous.
Awesome location, building, staff. Indoors & out is very clean. Lots of people, but still quiet. Some get parking tickets, so do read the signs.
