Wonderful, wonderful new menu. So awesome to have a Vancouver style restaurant in town: bone marrow, oysters, and superb service in a beautiful setting! So glad to have this place!
This was delicious! Service was excellent. We tried the lamb shank and sprouts but did not care much for the corn meal that’s served with it. It was not a busy night so we had a fair amount of attention. I hear it’s great in the warmer months as it overlooks the river. Worth a visit!
As a Vegan I really appreciate it when restaurants can make amendments to their specialty dishes for me... which Storms did! The food was great, the location beautiful, and pleasant helpful service.
It’s been a long time since we’d eaten here but we remembered the nice patio they had so we thought we’d try it again. The patio is even nicer than we had remembered, right on the river, beautiful views, high glass to block the wind and canvas sails overhead to provide shade. The service has excellent as was the food. They have a good selection of local wines and beer and the prices were reasonable. We particularly appreciated the fact that the background music was just that, not the blaring rough stuff that so many places use.
I had the pleasure of going out to dinner at Storms last night. It was awesome!! My husband and I have been patrons for the past 5 years but this recent visit was on point. We were seated by the owner who was so friendly and then our server-Zoe! She was incredible- engaging, warm, funny and her attitude was a breath of fresh air and an amazing waitress! The food is lovely- the owners support local farms for produce and the seafood is shipped from the fishermen in Vancouver right to your table. I can’t say enough about how wonderful it was last night. A comfortable but classy atmosphere, so welcoming. We will be back again and again
Great food, great view. New owners as of two years ago and the new Chef has really elevated the dishes served. They have everything from bar snacks for the patio to fine dining meals. Looking forward to seeing what new and exciting dishes I can try there in the future. Most recent favourite was the prime rib stuffed Yorkers that were recently on special. Yum!
The only saving grace to this place is the waitresses. They are truly a gem in what was a horrible experience. Food took well over an hour, our drinks sat empty, most of the food at our large group had been left under heat lamps for a while as the dips that should have come cold were hot. We spoke to the manager but they seemed to not even care about any of it. Before the new owners, this place was fabulous. Now it seems they take short cuts with not enough staff for capacity, and food that is barely edible. If you want a good meal, Don't waste it here on expensive meals for little reward.
I was here for the first time 3 weeks ago and had a great dining experience. Last night was completely opposite. Oysters were great. Caesar Salad was soggy and wilted. The side of fries ordered was completely forgotten. My dad tells me his chicken and ribs were mediocre at best. I saw the over cooked veggies on his plate and figured this is why we waited for 45 minutes for our food. Our server was so nonchalant when we asked about our meals. No apologies. No offers for dessert "on the house". The forgotten side of fries did eventually make it to the table and not on the bill; however, we had already finished our meals. The fries were the best thing we ate all night. I live on the coast and will stop recommending this restaurant to friends who are travelling in the Kamloops area.
Good creative drink menu! Didn't get a chance to have a meal but I noticed that the outside front of the building and the inside really needed a makeover. This restaurant is in an amazing location and I'm sure summertime on the patio is wonderful, but in winter the inside decor really shows that it needs some updating and appeal. Washrooms right at the front door? I felt like I entered a sports arena.
This restaurant was a real treat! Don't go if you are cheap, because it was shear west coast quality cuisine here. Had the most amazing dinner the crispy cauliflower bites were to die for, the buttered halibut with the apple asparagus salad was cooked to perfection. The new ownership has done wonders with the place, we received amazing service, our server I think Nicole was fantastic, as well as the entertainment we received sitting in the bar, who put on an interactive performance of the creative beverage he made us, I had a rose and cucumber gin martini. Had such a good time 3 hours had gone by. This is my new favorite restaurant. If I could afford to eat there every night I would, a great place to spoil yourself!
