This is a very unique store built in 1937. It originally was in older Leavenworth but it flooded in 1937. It has old time look , but has about anything you need. The basement is like a hardware store. It has so much to offer besides an antique look. It even has a shell button making machine and a rattan casket from many years ago to make sure the person was really dead before burying them. It has air between the rattan case to breathe. Just in case! So many interesting historical factors here.
Really cool place, has a little bit of everything. From drinks and snacks, to antiques and wildlife mounts. We stopped in for lunch and can't be more pleased with the food and staff. Really friendly people
This is one cool little store. They have a little bit of everything. Take the kids for an ice cream or treat. They carry Black Rifle Coffee which is awesome. Antique tools, knives, fishing tackle, crocks, just a well stocked general store. Great people and a great lil place. We will stop in every time we are in the area.
Quaint, country store I've been visiting annually when I go to Indiana for deer season. You can spend a day just looking at all the items this place has to offer. They even have ice cream and other food items to order...with tables to sit down at. The owners run the place and are wonderful to talk with.
This is a neat historic general store. The store is filled with old time times, pops, and nicknacks like you find at a five and dime store. There is ice cream and a puzzle to work on while your inside. There is even a basement with a well stocked hardware store. The extra time added to get to the location is well worth the breathtaking scenery you get to take in while driving the historic route along the river to get to the general store.
I love this place. It has great food and yummy sweets. I love the old time candy and old country items you can buy. It's like stepping back in time.
Absolutely loved finding this place!! Great service and selections. Honey, ice cream samples... so so good!!
An unspoiled, old-school general store. A gem that hopefully, will never change.
We stopped by for a couple bags of chips and left with so much more. The best item we left with is a memory of a conversation with a fine woman Owner as we ate ice cream. She was very kind. Someone I think we could have spoken with like we were old friends. Very nice store with a wide selection of many cool items. They are a General Store in every sense. Groceries, they have it. Full hardware store, they have it in the basement. Deli counter for breakfast and lunch, they have it. general supplies, they have it. Ice cream, they have it and it is good. Coffee, they have it. You need to wash clothes while camping nearby, they have it next door. History of the area, yep they have that too. They have many unique items. I am confident if you need something, they will have it or something similar. They have many items you did not realize you needed until seeing it on their shelf. Search for "Southern Indiana Ice Cream Trail" in Google Maps for several other excellent ice cream shops or cool stores that serve ice cream throughout Southern Indiana.
Very nice place to shop,if you are looking for old fashioned things
