Story

Starved Rock Lodge and Cabins were built from 1933 to 1939 by the Depression-era Civilian Conservation Corps and then were listed the U.S. National Register of Historic Places on May 8, 1985. By the National Register’s criteria, the Lodge and Cabins are considered significant in the area of architecture and entertainment.

Really beautiful anytime of year. Another wonderful trip, all staff were amazing. Food, drinks, and set up were exceptional and kept in tidy condition. Only complaint is wishing there was a sound reduction/ proof barrier instead of the cloth to deter the noise from other guests during function.

The location was perfect for a conference. It has a beautiful view and atmosphere, which is a nice change from the typical stuffy hotel/conference center. The food was amazing.....breakfast, lunch, snacks. Restrooms were located conveniently nearby.

Nice getaway that's not too far from Chicago suburbs. Hiking trails are right next to the lodge for easy access into the park. The rooms inside the lodge are nice and have that woodsy/ cabin feel to them. Actual cabins are also available. Overall had a nice experience!

Attended a state run seminar. The staff at Some.rock appeared to be quick to respond to technical issues at the start and during the event. After the seminar was over, I stopped into the diner. I recommend you try it. I will be back

Just ate lunch here with our family and the food was amazing! Service was awesome too! Thanks Brenda for a great experience.
