Staircase Campground

Really nice campground with all the facilities you need: bathrooms, drinking water, fire pits, and food storage. It's first come first serve so get there early if you want a good spot. It's right by a really pretty river. There are lots of nice trails nearby. There's no cellphone service. The closest place I found service was this shop about a 30 minute drive away from the campsite.

I live an hour away and have read that it's a great spot, so I keep meaning to pop by and hike the trail. Finally had a day where I was skunked on another trail, so we decided to go here. We paid ($80, bc let's go to three national parks this year!) and get up to the trail and, first of all, it is a freaking zoo. I mean holy heck there were so many people around. Then look at the sign & no pets allowed. Not sure why that wasn't mentioned as we drove in with 2 dogs. I forget that NPS is prejudice against my leashed and picked-up-after dog. Ha! You got my $$ this time NPS! But I vote and won't forget!

Beautiful, spectacular, picture perfect views of mountains and rivers and mossy wooded trails. The only drawback to this place is the price of parking and hiking is $25! This gives you a week long pass but if you are only going for one hike that is a lot to pay. The discover pass is not needed here because it is a national park.

Great place, drawback is the price, $25 in and $20to camp per night. Confusing system for camping also. Besides that it's a fantastic place
