Stagecoach Saloon at Ol' Nugget Lodge

I'd give it 5 stars if it ever came back like it was. Honestly I really hope it does. I have great memories of the place as a child and still will visit now that it's being reopened somewhat. The problem is the "somewhat." I may visit for nostalgia, a crumbling archaic funhouse. Getting my kids interested? Forget about it. The entire area of the Irish Hills has been in slow decline for the past 30 years. Nothing of substance remains except the lakes and an underfunded state park. Stagecoach Stop was a great place to visit in the 60s 70s and 80s. It is hard to look at it today and think it worth the price of admission. The entire operation needs massive investment and a rebuild. It's dead and open to Intruders with nobody and nothing to stop people from just entering at will when closed, which it is more than half the year. Reopened in 2016 after closing for nearly a decade, most buildings are in poor condition, rotting roofs and floorboards. There isn't much there to warrant the ten dollar admission cost. If the owners want this to go it's going to take some elbow grease and at least a half million dollars in renovation if they do it on the cheap. Simply building a 14 room Lodge in a dead area isn't going to cut it. They'll be out of business in a few years if no investment in infrastructure and advertisement isn't on the priority list. Counting on baby boomer nostalgia to get young kids who aren't interested and are hooked on video games to visit a crumbling broken down wild west amusement park is asking for chapter 11. Someone said "The ampitheatre would be great for concerts." Have you seen it lately?? Get real. It's a crumbling mess like the rest of the place. If the Irish Hills finds investors interested in it's potential they have a shot at a comeback. If not it's curtains...........permanently. And for me it hurts to say so.

Awesome place, totally being redone. My daughter's wedding will be there this summer. Can not wait to see all the awesome changes.

I have a lot of childhood nostalgia for Stagecoach Stop. This place has a ton of potential. The amphitheater could host some amazing music concerts. I really enjoyed my stay in the hotel rooms over the July 4th weekend for my brother in laws wedding party. If this place comes to life, it could lead to more revitalization to the rest of the Irish Hills area.
