St-Viateur bagel & café DDO

A cozy little place that’s great for a quick lunch. I highly recommend trying their bagels fresh out of the oven — they’re warm and extremely soft. Definitely worth a try if you’re nearby.nnTheir bagel sandwiches were not bad but the bagel for those sandwiches didn’t taste as good as the plain ones straight from the oven.nnOverall, a nice spot with good bagels, especially when they’re fresh.

This...THIS is a Montreal bagel. For those of you who don't know, St-Viateur bagels are the tip top of bagel royalty.nnIf you've never had a bagel, it's a style of bread prepared into rings by hand where the dough is boiled briefly before it's baked! The result is a soft chewy bread that is good by itself or as base of a great sandwich!nnSpeaking of sandwiches, there's a separate component of the bakery that makes sandwiches using the bagels baked freshly that day!nnIf you went to Montreal and didn't have a St-Viateur bagel then you didn't go to Montreal.

As good as the original plus they have a counter where you can order bagel sandwiches which are excellent. Coffees are also very good. I had the BLT and they were very generous in the bacon let me tell you! And my wife the classic which had a lot of smoked salmon.nnWill be back!

This location is a favourite to get our fix of authentic Montreal style bagels when we visit. It’s really really fun to get hot out of the oven fresh bagels. They are so good. The inside has a lot of space with some seating. I haven’t tried the sandwiches or other food but am guessing they’d be good as well. Definitely recommend any bagel from here!

Went here on Christmas Eve. Service was amazing. The two ladies that took my order were great at making recommendations. All staff here were very warm and welcoming. Tried the salmon bagel as this is what a friend had recommended. Also tried the jaws bagel which basically has a tuna filling. Enjoyed our breakfast. Really cool seeing the bagels getting made and really cool that there is a separate sections to place your order depending on your needs. Coffee was great. Would come here again for the coffee. It’s our first time in Montreal coming from London. If you’re a fellow Brit reading this, I’d recommend coming here if you’re missing the English high street. Coffee is on par to cafe Nero. The tuna bagel is like a Greg’s tuna baguette. The salmon one is similar to what we get at home. The bagels are crispy unlike the soft dense ones we are use tonIn London. Glad to have visited was comparatively a bit expensive. Service was amazing.
