Best school ever.nnI miss all of the teachers and my friends.nnI wish I wasn't in childcare. I hated it so much. I just wanted to go home like other kids and plus I am not sure if they can switch you to Chapel Hill because I didn't quite have a good experience when I went St. Kateri.
amazing school i definitely recommend it. Ms. Jackson is an amazing teacher grade 6 and everyone else is too. funny friends and welcoming kids! Sports are ok here but its elementary school so dont sweat about sports here. There are clubs. Staff are really nice though please go here. im graduating from this school this year im in grade 6 and as someone who has been here from kindergarden to grade 6, i can say my experience was great!nn-Deon Brown :D
This school is fantastic if your child isn't on the spectrum. It was fantastic for my 3 oldest children. But a complete 360 for my autistic child. My child was delayed a full school year because they wanted a full diagnosis from a psychologist. Their reason was for my child to receive the proper support while at school. His diagnosis reports were handed in June of 2022. On the report it stated that my child was a level 2 Autistic boy who required substantial support at all time. Not only were they aware of his needs, my child and the school had support from his CHEO urgent response team which included a behavioral specialist. His education was reduced to 1 hr and a half per day! By the end of the school year he was only going to school until 10:30am. I've had to pick him up early almost daily due to his meltdowns. They mentioned they did not have the proper staffing for his needs so they jumped through hoops to enroll him into a sector 23 program.nnThis school year while he was on the waitlist for his crossroads program, he was only going to school until 10:30am. I had to fight for them to extend his hours so he could somewhat be ready for his new full day program that he is waiting for. Knowing how he has trouble adapting to changes. They only extended his hours in January 2024, mentioning they didnt have the proper amount of EAs to do so before hand. It was pretty annoying for the fact that they knew of his diagnosis/needs 2 years prior. Let's not forget that this was also the reason why he missed a full school year. When I was called, My son was made to sound like a hazzard to others and himself. It was always one sided and when I picked him up he would tell me what triggered his meltdowns. Just last Friday, I had brought him in and while I was signing him in he started a meltdown because he wanted a toy they had put aside for him to buy the next day. I was told I should take him home because they were having a fun day with bouncy castles and that it would be too much for them to handle. My son missed out on the fun day because of his sensory issues. My son was devastated because he was talking about this fun day for the last week and a bit. The last 3 weeks, it seemed like I had to pick him up almost daily again. Today, I decided to pull him out for the rest of school 3 days because it's a real waste of time for him to be returned home in less then 3 hours. After saying this to them, they seemed in agreement and didn't try to change my mind. It almost felt as if they thrown the towel, knowing it's the end of the year and he will no longer be their issue.nnLong story short. Do yourself a favor. Steer clear if your child is on the spectrum and/or has sensories issues.
