Disappointing Experience at otssnnAs a concerned parent/student, I feel obligated to share my incredibly disappointing experience with otss. From the moment we enrolled, it's been nothing short of a nightmare. Here's why I cannot in good conscience recommend this school to anyone:nnLackluster Facilities: The school boasts about its facilities, but in reality, they are outdated and poorly maintained. The classrooms are cramped, the equipment is old, and the overall environment is dreary. It's clear that no investment has been made to improve the learning environment.nnUnqualified Staff: It's evident that many of the teachers lack the necessary qualifications and experience to effectively educate students. Their teaching methods are uninspired, and they seem disinterested in the success of their students. It's no wonder that academic performance is below par.nnBullying Problem: Despite assurances from the administration, bullying is rampant and unchecked. My child has been subjected to harassment on numerous occasions, and the school's response has been woefully inadequate. It's disgraceful that such behavior is tolerated.nnPoor Communication: Communication between the school and parents is virtually non-existent. Important information is often conveyed at the last minute, leaving parents scrambling to make arrangements. It's incredibly frustrating and reflects a lack of organization and professionalism.nnOvercrowded Classes: Class sizes are excessively large, making it impossible for teachers to provide individualized attention to students. As a result, many students fall behind and struggle to keep up with the curriculum.nnIneffective Leadership: The school administration seems clueless and indifferent to the concerns of students and parents alike. They prioritize bureaucratic red tape over addressing legitimate issues, further exacerbating the problems plaguing the school.nnIn conclusion, my experience with otss has been overwhelmingly negative. It's disheartening to see a school fail so miserably in its duty to educate and protect its students. Save yourself the headache and look elsewhere for a quality education.
The only thing good about this school is the welding teacher, everything else is an utter lie. They say that they'll back you up and help you out anytime or that they belive in you but then they just let you down as soon as you actually succeed, they'll make you look like a bad person for being successful in your trade career. OH and how could I forget about how they just flat out give up on the rest of their students. OTSS is the worst school in Ottawa
Looks like my review got deleted I figure this school has something to do with that. Like I said before it's not a safe school and I beg you send your kids to any other school other than this school.
Terrible school I don't recommend it to anyone very prestigious hate the teachers here not the nicest people Ottawa to me doesn't have a whole lot of good schools they need to fix the education system.
Every high school has issues and may have had bad reputations. And for those who rated poorly your the ones who have issues. Every high school has good students and bad students good teachers and worst teachers.nI believe OTSS have excellent teachers and programs! And it’s a parents responsibility to teach your teens to be a good role model.
