Spud Box

Not to be missed for one of the best burgers and fries that rivals Webber's . The Spud Box is now in a truck on the same property just a little north of this building. Plenty of parking!

If you're expecting a sit down restaurant location, don't. Looks like they had a fire and now it is just a Spud Box food truck located behind where the original restaurant location. Honestly the fish and chips are probably the best I've had since my trip to Bradford, England BUT the place loses a star for one reason that affected our experience. My friend, who has a severe nut and seed allergy, asked what kind of oil they used the owner just shook his head and said that all he would say was that it wasn't peanut. He said that my friend would be "safe" eating here but the vagueness of his answers was unsettling. I understand it may be proprietary info but maybe just pull him aside and tell him what it is or what exactly is in it so he knows for sure. For my friend it is literally a matter of life and death, I think food establishments should be forthcoming with details if a patron tells them information like this. We trusted him and ate here. My friend did not have any reaction so it seems they are safe but it made his and therefore everyone's dining experience uncomfortable. Other than that the food was absolutely delicious! I highly recommend the fish and chips, the chips and the fish were fried just perfectly! Crispy on the outside and tender on the inside! So yummy!!

Great roadside eatery. Portion sizes were more than enough for a guy like me. The special poutine was a decent value at $12.50 (tax included). Gerry/Jerry?, the owner, is a super chill guy.

Burger was home made and quite good. Comes with all the fixings like pickles and onions, etc. Gravy was excellent on the poutine, though the cheese curds came in two colours. Tasted fine, but seemed a little strange. If this place is open the next time we drive by I'm sure we'd try it again.

There is nothing there but an old building that looks like it had a fire and a construction fence all around it. This place is not open at all.
