Story

Summertime on Castle Rock Lake is a great time to try some new restaurants... or return to one of the favorites of locals, Splash Waterfront Bar & Grill. Located in a serene bay on the fourth largest lake in Wisconsin, Splash Waterfront Bar & Grill will capture your appetite and take you to the tropics both with their food and cocktail menus. Owner, Connie Carlson has been in the restaurant business for many years and she has raised the bar in terms of quality and ambiance.

The bar is nicely sized and has a few tables for dining where they often offer specials. Their bartenders are always concocting some new drink to try, so let them be your guide! Splash’s drink menu is so extensive, delicious and fun. Voted best the Bloody Mary and Long Island Ice Tea on Castle Rock. How about those bucket drinks? Yes, cocktails served in a sand pail... only on the beach in Wisconsin. Belly up to the bar with your friends and grab a straw.

There is a full dining room for large parties to enjoy their outing as well as outdoor dining with tropical plants and palm trees surrounding the deck. The tiki torches are lite at dusk so you can enjoy the beautiful sunsets on Castle Rock Lake. Drive in off County Z to Dakota Lane in Friendship, WI or pull up and dock at the piers to experience a wonderful indulgence of food and drink.

Sharky’s Tiki Bar is open on the weekends and invites boaters and patrons to experience a pleasing outdoor experience sipping on a cocktail and playing volleyball, bags or chatting with others overlooking the lake.

Connie’s secret is simple. Give the customer a pleasing experience and they will come back again and again. The size of the portions of your meal are huge. You can eat a couple of meals on the amount of food served... just ask for a doggie bag. The almost famous French Onion soup will surely warm your heart. A favorite of many who come just for a taste. The all-you-can-eat salad is a home run in a large bowl accompanied with a fresh baked, warm garlic stick. The burgers are wildly addictive so be careful and then there’s the volcano fries served up with a kick not to mention the homemade mucho nacho platter. See if you and five of your friends can finish off this gigantic appetizer. Splash’s menu is extensive and will make your decision a difficult one. Just come back and try them all. Every Friday is fish fry which offers a variety of all-you-can-eat white fish baked or battered, cod either baked or blackened, along with cold, crisp coleslaw and garlic bread stick and choice of potato, rice pilaf or veggies. Doesn’t get any better than that. Oh wait, yes all-you-can-eat shrimp is also a winner and a favorite of many.

I am sure your inner carnivore will certainly be satisfied with their Prime Rib dinner special on Saturday night. Slow cooked and served with soup or salad and choice of potato or vegetables, your taste buds will explode, especially if you order it blackened. If that's not enough to eat, you can add shrimp to that special.
