Great restaurant. Looked nice inside. Food was good but a bit salty probably because it was pre marinated. If the food were balanced taste then it would be better.
Get off the highway, and get yourself to Spice Hut. With a logo featuring two chili's the heat and flavor of the food here is by far top shelf. The beef vindaloo was packed with flavor, and quite literally melted in my mouth! Christa, our server, was amazing, attentative and thoroughly helpful in accommodating our table's varied level of spice for the people in our group. The basmati rice and naan were the perfect accompaniment to our dishes, and the cost was quite reasonable! I will be back for sure and I'll be bringing more people back to enjoy this hidden gem.
The flavors were very authentic. ask for medium spice thought the medium spice was a little bit too hot for medium. good food reasonable serving size and prices
New name, new owners, but same wonderful food! We got together with friends, so it was six of us. The day was insanely hot - above +35°C, so we decided to sit inside. We ordered six different meals, but all of them were amazingly delicious - coconut chicken, curry lamb, butter chicken, chicken curry rice bowl, mango chicken and fish pakora. Everything was spicy, but not too hot with rich flavours and nice texture. We end up sharing each other meals just to feel the difference and everyone loved it. Service was wonderful, friendly staff, lots of help. Definitely the place to go again! Thanks again PS Check out their patio with shaded nice tables!
Spice Hut has changed its name. Sorry, can’t remember new name. Same great Indian food! And now they also have a limited Western food menu. Best of all, they have opened their outside patio. Lovely, tree’d space. No hot sun pouring down on you like most of the patios in the Hat. New furniture and nicely spaced apart. We go there often for the great Indian food but last night we had Western - a hamburger for me and steak for my husband. The hamburger was in a pretzel bun and was one of the best restaurant hamburgers I’ve ever had! The steak looked good and my husband said it tasted very good also. The indoor dining and bar area could use some renovations but we will go back often to sit in the patio.
This is a great place to eat. Needing to eat gluten free is not a problem. The food is tasty and good portion sizes. It is very busy so reserving a table is wise and expect to wait. The staff are great and friendly. The tables are close together but it is popular and they are trying to accommodate as many people as they can. When you taste the food, you understand why and will forgive the wait time and the table spacing.
Amazing food as always but severely disappointed with the service. Waitress was wearing clothing that did not fit her figure and far too short, hair wasn't tied back, lacking in all confidence and had to make several trips to clean one table that had 3 plates on it. Mixed up our order and then charged us for it....
very clean, beautiful restaurant, quiet and romantic, wouldn't recommend for young kids as it's a bit upscale. food is delicious. good portion sizes. personal favourites are the coconut curry and the chicken tikka masala, mild will suit most, medium will require three or four glasses of water, if you want hot they can make it nice and hot. great place.
We were very excited to try out a new restaurant. Showed up. The lady at the counter was busy with helping another customer. We were not acknowledged when we came in and eventually she said, I will be with you right away. She left after helping the lady and went into the back. She came out with food that she obviously had to serve for customers and then started chatting with those patrons. She ignored us, as well as the other waitress that was working there. Needles to say, we left. We will not return to this establishment again.
I've only had take-out, and I've not actually eaten in the store. The food is wonderful and my choice for Indian food in town. Anything spicier than medium hot is uncomfortably spicy for me though, but I did ask for it. Try the coconut naan, it makes a great dessert!
