This place is our new favourite! The views are stunning, ambience is litt and menu is electrifying. The perfect sauce for a good night with family/friends/clients. Joshua was very kind and made our visit here a memorable one! From the sparkling wine to oysters to steak…everything was great and the service was attentive. The oysters were really fresh and we couldn’t stop ordering more, the crab and salmon were good as well. We had ordered some vegan dishes as well which were delicious, the portions were a little small but recipe was good. They carry a good wine selection and Joshua helped us pair the perfect Chardonnay. The sprouts cooked in maple syrup were so good!!
I've read many reviews lately about Spencer's. Some complained of price, service, lack of organisation etc. All these were NOT the case for my partner and I. We were greeted immediately upon entry, they confirmed our reservation, accommodated our request to sit outside and with a couple of minutes a staff member provided menus, water and a additional greeting. Our server was wonderful. They returned to our table multiple times to check on the food and if we needed anything else. To those who are worried about price, the portions were large. We brought the fries home, there were so many. The burger was cooked perfectly and it was able to be served on a gluten free bun. Parking was crazy, so do give yourself a bit extra time. We parked off Brant in a municipal lot and the walk was 5-10 minutes at most. Overall, I judge how good a restaurant is by whether I go back or not. I definitely will. The dinner was marvelous, view amazing, and atmosphere perfect. Yes Spencer's is more expensive than some chain roadhouse restaurants, but they can not compete. Dietary restrictions: Completely able to accommodate my Celiac requirements.
Beautiful heated patio overlooking the waterfront, and great service; our waitress was very nice. Ordered a few appetizers to share and a drink. Kale Caesar Salad: good salad; I'm not normally a fan of kale but this tasted great. Not overly dressed either which I appreciated. My favourite thing I had. Crab Cakes: they were alright. It comes with potato salad on top which provides a different flavour than one would expect from a crab cake. It wasn't bad but not sure the combo works that well together. Tempura Shrimp Cocktail: only came with 3 shrimp. Again, it was good but nothing that special. Each item was between $18-$24. Overall, it was a good experience with good service and a great view/patio. The food is good but not mind blowing. The mains are more expensive around the $45/50 mark.
The service was good. The waiter was friendly and helpful. If you're looking for great food, look elsewhere. The Sirloin Steak cost $50 and the portion was tiny. It wasn't even very tender or tasty. Avoid the steaks. The pasta was okay but expect baby shrimp and little scallops. The steak comes without any side dishes. So expect to pay extra for things like fries and brussel sprouts. Side dishes were actually the best part of this meal. Food takes around almost an hour too. The view by the lake is nice.
This restaurant perfectly combines location, design, service, quality and provides a memorable food experience beyond your expectations. Over looking lake Ontario the restaurant is bright and contemporary in design. The staff is courteous, friendly plus highly responsive. The menu is perfectly curated and the food quality exemplary. Spencer's at the Waterfront is a must visit!
Nice restaurant with beautiful views of the waterfront in Burlington. There is not enough parking to accommodate guests of the restaurant so be prepared to circle around for parking at prime times like 7pm-8pm. The service is super friendly and attentive but the food was a little bland for my liking. Sides need to be purchased separately. A nice date spot.
Lovely place to enjoy a slightly more refined dining experience. Our service was impeccable and overall our food all came out very tasty. I had ordered the striploin steak and it was cooked exactly as asked, however I will say I found it needed a touch more salt. If you're deciding on an appetizer, the beef tartare was bomb. Besides that, the views made for a great night out.
Went with a friend. Great ambience and wonderful view. Service was good considering we went at a busy time. Price point is a bit higher but the food quality was good. The only thing I found lacking was that there weren't many vegetarian/vegan options. I got the Ricotta Gnocchi and my friend got the NS Lobster Roll. We both liked the food. The apps were Falafel and Flatbread sweet but not overly.
The ambience was good, our waiter was very polite and nice, unfortunately I am very bad with names so I can’t remember his. He constantly checked up on us and was helpful when we were indecisive on our meals. The restrooms were clean. We left late into the night but everyone working there that we walked by on our way out was polite - thanked us for coming and wished us a goodnight. It’s the little things. We did have a rough start with the lady at the entrance concerning our reservation but the experience with the waiter made us forget about it. I loved my dessert!! Dark Chocolate Mousse
Amazing patio. Food, service, and dining experience all wonderful. While it's expensive, the view and experience on top of the great food is worth it. The patio and atmosphere are delightful with a very nice view of the lake. Service was great and our server was very courteous and attentive. As the night went, it became quite busy and we didn't get as much attention from our server but we were never neglected. Ordered the tomahawk steak cooked medium for the table and it came out perfectly. All the food is perfectly seasoned; not too salty and not bland at all. I didn't care for the short rib croquette appetizer, but all other food that was ordered was delicious.
