Back in the mid-80s we used to go bowling at the duck pen on Farmington Avenue and then run across the street to South Whitney pizza and grinder the place was awesome. I recently stepped in and immediately felt welcomed. 40 years later they now have a bar with music playing and people enjoying drinks and gathering with friends. On the other side of the partition was some tables and the kitchen where many yummy treats were being cooked. I ordered the spaghetti and meatballs with extra parmesan and extra sauce. I don't know if they kept the same recipe but I was brought all the way back to the good old South Whitney Pizza of old. The food was super hot the service was excellent and the overall feeling was like being home again. Anyone who comes to this neighborhood in the West end absolutely deserves to stop in to South Whitney pizza and grinder.
I love going to South Whitney Pizza & Bar. It's a great place for people who like pizza and want it with a different twist. It was the first place I ate at that made me think about how good it could be when it's not just ""pizza"". The food is amazing! It's fresh, hot, and full of flavor. The people are friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere is fun and comfortable. If you're looking for something different than your normal pizza place, check out South Whitney Pizza & Bar!

Oh my goodness, I just had the BEST pizza ever. The pizza was delicious and well-seasoned. The crust was crispy and flavorful. It wasn't soggy or too soft. We loved the pizza here! It was so good. They make their own sauce and have a really good selection of toppings. We got a large cheese pizza, but it was still pretty small for how much cheese we put on it. The crust was nice and chewy, too. I would definitely come back to this place!
I love South Whitney Pizza & Bar! I'm always in search of an amazing pizza joint and I've been to a lot of places in my life, but South Whitney is by far the best pizza place I've ever been to. It's not only delicious, but it has the best atmosphere. The wait staff is super friendly and always willing to help you out. The owner even came over to talk about how he started the restaurant and what he hopes it will become over time. It's a great place to hang out with friends or just by yourself!
