Great spot to visit on a sunny day! The boat launches were very easy access and smooth to put your boats in the lake and take out. They have a large "sand bar" area right past the boat launch, where people gather to play in waste deep clear waters. And the water is so clean and beautiful!! Can't wait to visit again!
This is the most beautiful state park in Michigan. The lake is crystal clear and is wonderful. There are also nice hiking trails nearby.

Very nice park and you might catch Kid Rock out fishing for Walleye
Nice for kids because it doesnt go deep unless you are way far out. Lots of boats with music going just beyond swim area. Only small amount of sandy beach. Water is very clear and soft sand bottom.
Great facility. Large, park with plenty of sites available. Friendly staff and helpful rangers. Amenities are typical of a state park, but there really isn't much more you'll need when you will be enjoying the beautiful water at Higgins Lake.
