Since 1934 our family has worked hard to make families like yours safer and more comfortable indoors, with heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) services as well as home heating oil delivery. Today we are the largest supplier of residential heating oil in both Rockland County and Orange County and one of the largest in several other New York and New Jersey counties. We also now offer propane delivery and commercial fuel delivery and HVAC services.

We hired them to put in a new furnace / central AC unit..The techs installed no problem except ,they needed to come back to finish the AC part..which was also no big deal.....Fast forward 1 1/2 weeks...and we get the deep freeze....The furnace only blew cold air...I cannot say enough good about Carol in the office, Barry, Mike, Matthew and Jeff ( i am sorry if i forgot anyone ) They went above and beyond to fix the furnace so we had heat...I would highly  recommend  this company , and i will be using them as the need arises..

It very funny to read the reviews here because its a very similar experience that just happened to me in my home. If you would have asked me 3 months ago I would have said this "5 stars, the oil prices and service are great! they deliver on time and at a good price". 

Unfortunately I will have to give SOS 1 star. I believe what makes any business a good business is how you treat the customer when there is a problem and they looking for guidance. We have been with SOS since we moved to our home and purchased a very expensive AC unit 2 years ago. The unit gave us problems early July and we were told that the compressor was not working and needed to be replaced I figured OK no problem the unit is 2 years old well under the manufactures guarantee and I have been paying for a service contract for the unit so a few hundred bucks would be the damage. Well needless to say that wasn't the case. After a few days after the diagnostics was performed I called for a status on the compressor when we spoke to the office staff they informed us (On a Friday afternoon no less) that the part has not been ordered because we need to pay $1,500! for the labor component to install the unit before they order the warrantied part.  Now my outrage was full on for a variety of reasons.
1. Friday at 4:30PM I receive this call after having no A.C in the middle of July for over a week already, so clearly I will be out at least another 7 days. And mind you I only received that call because I initiated the call in the first place.
2. The fact that they would not even order the part that was fully covered until the full labor payment was made was outrageous since the part is completely covered by warranty so that should have already been at the office when they called me back ready for the next step in the process.
3. $1,500 in labor!. I had been paying them a so called service agreement that supposedly covered some of the cost of any repairs and service so I could only imagine how much they would have tried to charge if I was not in a plan. The entire outdoor unit purchased brand new would be around 3K so the labor for a replacement was nearly half on a brand new unit.

So all in all if you looking for an oil company to deliver regularly and when you call for basic service they show up then yes SOS is or you, but then again so is every other oil company.... But if you are looking for a company that will be there when you really need them then I suggest you keep on trucking...

Buyer Beware ....  We chose SOS because they had great service and we liked the  gentlemen  that came out to the house to sell us the new  Central air  unit. It's been 1 year and 2 weeks !!! Yes 2 WEEKS !!! May I add we did all the recommended services.  Which was one in the winter and one about two weeks ago. Now we have a bad  part and they will not cover it or work with us at all. It's over a 700 repair that would be covered but we are 2 weeks to late !!! There answers to me was when I bought my Apple Laptop and it broke a week out or warranty they made me pay also. What kind of customer service is this ??? Work with me or something not just tell me your on your own, I have 2 small girls at home. We the  consumer is what keeps you in business. I will also be filling a BBB complaint also maybe someone will help us !!!

I used SOS to install ductless airconditioning and they did very good job. Then i hired them to update my security system. Adam was great, very thorough, patient, tested and veified evrything. And even one detector performed incorrctly after installation, Adam corrected himself in the evening.
So far i am very pleased  with this new security system. Thank you Adam!!! I will hire SOS again without hesitation.

I could not have been more pleased with SOS Extreme Comfort.  I received prices for ductless air conditioning as well as for a full house generator.  SOS had the best price and also gave me a good deal to switch to them for my propane.  The technicians were very professional, friendly and arrived when they said they would!  I highly recommend SOS to anyone looking for these services.
