I appreciate the fact that I can get my preferred choice of plantains at this location. The store is well-organized, and all the products are clearly labeled. While I find some items to be quite costly compared to other stores, overall, I feel that this store offers a wide range of groceries and other essentials, making it convenient for most shopping needs.nnAn area for improvement today involves the individual at the cash register, Susannah. While I understand they might be dealing with personal matters or perhaps that’s just their natural expression, they appeared moody and did not smile while serving customers. As this is a front-facing role, it would be greatly appreciated if staff were more welcoming and cheerful in their interactions with customers. That said, if this is their natural demeanor, please feel free to disregard this feedback. Thanks
If I absolutely can not get what I need from the dollar store grocery area or from shoppers drug mart, I would say Sobeys is good when I have no when else in that moment without having to taxi or bus to a different store. Sobeys is unreasonably expensive and what they claim are price deals are everyday prices at places like No Frills and Olson's. This particular store has food scales which measure in pounds but the weight scale at checkout is in kilograms which leaves customers having to do the calculations to convert pounds to kilograms while trying to shop. Not everyone is so skilled with that kind of math and I feel it is a sneaky tactic to trick people in to paying a higher price for fruit and vegetables. They do not have a good range of meat and again prices are out of alot of people's range. We have also bought packaged meat and the weight on the sticker was more than what the meat truly weighed. Pay more end up with less. $100 to $150 dollars of foods you would normally need in your home fits into two medium sized t-shirt bags. That is a 2 day supply of food for one or two people. That is outrageous and in todays economy we cant afford to be ripped off by a big chain grocery store company who really dont care about their customers
The last couple of times I've been there, expiration dates were only a few days away on dairy, produce and some pantry items. I left without half the stuff I came in for. I think I'll shop somewhere else where the food is fresher
Prices for many items are not cheaper than those on WallMart and Costco, but are more diverse. Vegetables and meat have more options. Some people don't like it, but I still like it here.nA good choice if you don't want to go far and don't need to buy in bulk.nFriendly and helpful staffs.
Far too overpriced, unorganized, hard to find most things and good luck getting a friendly staff to assist, if you can ever find one that is .
