Located right off 94. We went in winter, so unfortunately the outdoors section of the water park is closed. Separate Magic Quest game building is pretty big and involved if you're into that kind of thing. Inclusive passes are a good deal of your going to do all the things listed, and having choices in addition to the water park make for a very engaging experience. We only used about half of the water park, being with smaller children. The bigger/faster slides didn't interest them, but there are adventures for just about every age group. Staff was very accommodating, and despite the somewhat lengthy check in process, there were games for kids to play while parents were in line to sign in, and given the numbers of people checking in, it went pretty quick. Being a rather large lodge/ water park the halls of rooms is expansive and some at the far reaches of the rooms will be pretty far from the center of the lodge with the water park and very far from the Magic Quest attraction. Plan accordingly if you can, by booking in advance and requesting a room closer to the main lobby. We did not book a themed room, but our "basic" room was well enough appointed for a very comfortable stay. We weren't there for the rooms anyway. Food and snacks seemed decently priced, and a number of dells restaurants would deliver food as well to cover most bases. Overall, a fun place to hang out and looking forward to being there again. Nearby activities: It's located in the Dells, there are buckets of other attractions in the area, though most are seasonal, so plan accordingly.
Was our first time. 4 kids, 7-12, and they loved it. The cashless system is wonderful with the wrist band being your access to all food and drinks as well as your room key. Food was to be expected, expensive and mediocre at best. Drinks were priced as expected too, $5.50 for a domestic 16oz beer and mixers starting at $12-$14. They did offer $30 bucket of ice and beers/seltzer 6. Rooms were clean and staff was always friendly. Our room wasn't ready for an hour past check in time but they were polite and gave an extra hour for check out on the last day which the kids utilized to swim. Check in was long, earlier the better as it got close to 4 it was always very busy. Pool area was always clean, a LOT of people. Would go again. Photo is of the line checking in at 2:30pm
My family and I spent Christmas here and it was great! I expected the indoor water park to be bigger based on the photos I saw online but my kids had an awesome time regardless! I was impressed with the cleanliness of our room, I noticed the fresh smell as soon as I walked in. We loved the activities they had for the children in the evenings especially the dance party! The staff seemed genuinely friendly and enthusiastic which is hard to come by nowadays. We will most likely visit again.
Enjoyed the experience even with older kids! We played the first afternoon and then all day the second day. 1.5 days of play was plenty for us. It was great to have a cabana as home base for the adults to chill on the full day. Men watched the football game and ladies hung out. Hard to get food though. Get it early if it's busy or be flexible to get it whenever it's ready. Overall experience was positive and enjoyed ourselves!
It's a great water park but I was pretty disappointed with many aspects of our stay. They are cashless but not. They tell you it's cashless but the arcade has an ATM and a machine to accept cash for points to play the various gambling type games. It was a horrible experience for the young kids. Games like claw machine took all their money with no amount of parents helping or trying to convince the young kids these games cheat. It was more like a casino and less like an experience for kids and more like one of the many cash grabs aimed at sucking lots of money from you after the initial purchase. The build a bear has specials but only once you spend 40 dollars, our 4 outfits and various accessories was 39.75 before tax and 42 dollars after tax but the purchase didn't qualify for the discount. Want to do magic quest? Expect paying for upgrades. The candy was just a cup of jelly beans. The ice cream was mostly melted before it came out of their freezer. I'm still getting text messages from them a day after checking out letting me know about quiet hours. Prices for bathing suits on location was around 45 to 50 dollars, the local Walmart had them in stock in late December because they know it's a water park town. The water park experience was great, not really any complaints here.
We visited this facility a few years ago and had a great time, so we were excited to be back. Check in is 4:00 pm, we arrived about 4:15 and had to wait for an hour before our room was ready. We were in the condos and as soon as we walked into our room, we were overwhelmed by the smell of cooking oil. Previous guests had obviously deep fried food in the unit and the smell was nauseating. The stove had burned on food on it, there were pieces of popcorn and other trash on the floor. There is construction in the waterpark, which we weren't expecting, but it doesn't impede too much. The women's restroom in the water park only has one working soap dispenser by the sink that is clogged. The other dispenser has been completely removed. The facilities are obviously tired - stains and fading on carpets throughout, stains on the water park floors, faded fabrics, worn cushions on chairs in the room and in the cabana. Cabana prices have doubled in the three or four years since we were last here, plus they don't provide free beverages any longer, other than four bottles of water. My children enjoyed the water park, but the facility is definitely in need of some updating. I expected it to be in better overall condition, especially considering how much all of the prices have increased.
Definitely great for little kids. As a 20 something I also had a blast! There aren’t a ton of slides but the ones they have that are a little scarier or more intense are REALLY fun. Also fourth floor rooms are where it’s at. Amazingly high ceilings. Also very clean. Went during winter but would love to go in summer.
First time back here in almost 15 years and it was way better than I remember! All the attractions water park, arcade, magi quest, and special events were very nice and clean. The food at the different restaurants was reasonably priced for a theme park and the food was pretty good. The room was very clean and I found nothing wrong with it. My only complaint was the water park rotation. With the current staffing shortage, they only have enough staff and life guards to have about half the rides and attractions open at once which is understandable since everyone is going through staffing problems. The only problem with this is that when those big attractions like the tornado and some other slides are open for two hours, everyone has to wait for extended periods of time to ride. Again, an understandable problem to have and they seem to have the rotation down to a science but still a little inconvenient if you are only spending a day or two in the water park and would like to go on each slide more than one or two times. But other than that, it was a great stay and I will be back sooner rather than later!
I give 5 stars for our very first visit, the staff was fantastic, we enjoyed the water park and my 3 year old had a ton of fun for story time and late night dance party. Magic quest was fun for my older girls they enjoyed it. And also my husband and I liked that they had a 5 for 30$ drink special. We loved our room and it smelled clean through out the while building which I love!!!
This is the 4th time I've stayed at this park. It has gone down hill for sure. Other reviews saying these same things are spot on. The 'staffing issues' is a joke. If there is really a problem offer more pay and benefits. From what I saw the staffing issues are a way to cut costs at the park. Less attractions operating, less wages=less overhead. Not telling guests that only 1/3 of the park is operating at any time is a very poor business plan. The room was clean, the carpets definitely could use some cleaning. I've stayed at the Wilderness as well, same issues. It seems that these companies just want to suck as much as possible and really don't care about return customers anymore. The staff was cordial at best, not friendly except for the waitress in the restaurant who was very good also works for tips so generally they are friendlier. Cost... way too expensive for the extras. 2 adults, 2 kids dinner 140 bucks. We went for a quick 1 day getaway, I will save my 600 dollars and go somewhere else next time.
