Was craving some desserts while in the area and settled on Snowcap but was very disappointed with our order. We ordered the Pandora ube soft serve and the matcha azuki taiyaki. Our order took 40 minutes!!! and the food wasn't good. The soft serve lacked ube flavour and was overly sweet. The taiyaki only had matcha and was missing the azuki, and it was over a bed of baby spinach and some dried strawberry ?! which just wilted from the heat. The middle of the taiyaki was also soft. The employees were very nice but there was definitely some operation and efficiency issues. I don't mind waiting a reasonable time but I think staff should inform customers up front about an expected wait time. Overall, the wait time was excessive and the food was quite poor.
Fantastic looking soft serve, definitely on the sweeter side so it’s great for those with a sweet tooth or those looking for an IG shot. The regular sized taiyakis are croissant taiyakis and was pretty yum - crispy and flaky with a bit of nice chew you’d get from a traditional taiyaki, I’d come back for this one! Also tried their creme brûlée which was aight.
I ordered an osmanthus mochi oolong taiyaki, and the mochi is uncooked. I can taste the flour. The guy worked there insisted it is how it is and there is nothing he can do about it. When all my friends' mochi taste soft and chewy. And shortly he asked us to leave cus max occupancy reached and ppl are waiting outside. There was no one before us in the store, still we spent more time waiting for the food than eating. Terrible experience. Would not recommend.
Great portions. Excellent customer service. Exquisite seating. I normally dislike soft serve ice-cream from other desert cafes for being too sweet, but snowcap really hit the spot for me. The cold Ube paired with the soft mochi tasted wonderful. The nice Asian girl at the counter really helped with my choice. I came around 6 and there was no lineup to my surprise. Thank you. I enjoyed my stay. Will come back soon with friends and family.
We ordered take out after dinner. My friends preferred the croissant taiyaki it has a crunchy crust. I preferred the smaller ones with green tea and red bean fillings. They were so soft and tasty! The fairy dust ice cream was very special as well. It’s not your typical ice cream. It definitely is worth a try!
A very aesthetically pleasing cafe, with 2 hanging swings, neon purple/blue wing decor on the wall, and a ledge to perch on. I tried: Truffle Cream Corn Mash Taiyaki: **This was my favourite order** - their taiyaki's come in pairs and is unique as it is made with a buttery & flaky croissant dough. They do also sell smaller "regular" taiyaki's, with the standard doughy batter. The edges of the croissant taiyaki's were especially crispy. It had the consistency and taste of mashed potatoes and was savoury & cheesy, with a hint of truffle flavour. Custard Cream Taiyaki: Also made using their croissant dough, filled with a custard made from specially imported Madagascar vanilla beans which was very aromatic. The custard was on the sweet side for my personal tastes. Osiris: Soft serve naturally coloured using activated charcoal. Pretty large swirl of ice cream, with a HINT of vanilla flavour. I'd like to emphasize that they advertise it as a hint of vanilla, and it is not a vanilla cone. It does not taste very strongly of vanilla more like a sweet taste, so don't be disappointed if it doesn't have a strong robust/strong vanilla taste. Thin handmade waffle cone, made in house on a waffle iron was great, and it's topped off with edible gold flakes. Latte: solid cup of medium roast coffee using a custom blend from a local roaster Agro Roasters I went during soft opening, so they are still perfecting some of their recipes/menu options. Definitely worth checking out soon, or to keep an eye out at least for their grand opening in the near future.
There’s a new and IG worthy dessert shop in town @snowcapcafe is having their soft opening and everything on their menu is currently 30% off! They have lots of yummy soft serves and sweet & savoury taiyakis They have neon lights to take with your food and couple of hanging bench seats for your lifestyle shots I got to try their seasonal chestnut soft serve and the classic pizza pocket taiyaki. This savoury taiyaki was easily my favourite, crunchy and flaky on the outside layer! It best to eat it when it’s still hot and freshly made to order. It’s delicious, cheesy and the fillings were very tasty. I could easily have a few of these in one sitting. I would recommend The seasonal chestnut soft serve had good flavours and on the subtle side. It’s made with creme de marrons imported from France. It’s a cool twist to incorporate this comfort French dessert into their soft serve and it was creamy, sweet and nutty.
Came by during the soft opening to get some warm snacks in the winter weather! I got the custard croissant taiyaki, a traditional bubble waffle, and an americano misto. The taiyaki was perfect, crispy flakey outside and the custard filling wasn't too sweet. Bubble waffle was standard, but standard bubble waffles are delicious regardless. I found that the americano misto to be very watery, so I wouldn't recommend the espresso drinks. Overall, I really enjoyed everything -- but had a bit of an embarrassing experience with one of the staff. I ordered an americano misto, but received just an americano. When I corrected the staff, she told me that they don't serve americano mistos. I was very confused because americano mistos are a basic drink that every cafe is familiar with. I tried to explain to the staff what an americano misto is, but she insisted they didn't serve it, then explained what an americano is to me this made me feel quite embarrassed, as I know what an americano is. In trying to explain the drink, I asked if they served lattes, to which she said they did, and explained to her that it's very similar to a latte, so if they could serve a latte they could make an americano misto. She once again insisted they don't serve americano mistos, and told me that they make americanos "their way." I then asked if she could add steamed milk to my americano, to which she agreed, which was funny because that literally is an americano misto which they supposedly could not serve me! I don't blame her, as this may not be her first experience at a job with an espresso bar. The experience is also honestly quite funny in retrospect. But, knowing a drink as basic as an americano misto should be something that managers train staff to know, after all, this is both a creamery and a cafe. As someone who has worked extensively in customer service, I would have appreciated if she had just politely asked what an americano misto was so that my drink could quickly be fixed. I also think that with covid-19 there could be a small improvement to the packaging of food items! Since there is limited seating inside, most orders are taken to go. My taiyaki were fine as they were in a box and stayed hot. But the bubble waffle was in an open sleeve, so it got cold I also dropped the sleeve and the bubble waffle slipped out and landed on the concrete ... very sad. I think having a cover for the bubble waffle and other items could be helpful for those of us stopping by to take out orders!
Awesome Valentine's Day Set! Nice décor and wonderful deserts. Its great to have ice cream and finish with a warm drink. Will definitely go back again. Keep up the good work.
Definitely a neat shoo, different atmosphere then other soft serve shop. Neon lights, and swings! I've been here twice now, and they were both great experience! Taiyaki were to die for with the croissant dough, they were extremely crispy and the fillings were perfect. Their soft serve was very good. Bubble waffle the first time I tried, they were a little bit soggy, but I informed the manager there and the second time I went, it was vastly improved. They listen to their customer feedback and try to make your experience better than the last. Definitely a must try/go place! Great work Snowcap Team!
