Love this place! Donna and Ed are great people to deal with. The park is well maintained and mother nature helps out with stunning sunsets to end each day. Local singer, Johnny Sweets is a regular performer with beautiful renditions of classic rock etc. Just pull up a chair when you see him with his guitar on his deck! There were several children during our stay - they were having a ball in the big Kids Park and pool. Wonderful to hear happy children playing. Lots of old geezers like ourselves too; a very friendly bunch . an.Andy we made some great new friends
Nice older park. 15 to 20 minutes from just about everything if you wanted to take on Picton or a winery. Two conservation areas close by. Pretty road and felt safe to bike on. Small in heated clean pool Beach is marginal but we enjoyed our stay and will visit again.
Amazing camp ground . Super friendly staff, beautiful beach area, with scenic sunsets almost every night. Very pet friendly with swimming area specifically for your family pet. Would recommend this campsite to anyone. Since discovering this gem, our family has booked every year. Short drive to Picton and several local winerys .
We spent a week at smugglers Cove mid June and owners were friendly and very helpful. We did have an issue with our. RV and Ed responded quickly helped resolve the issue. It is clean and lots nice. We definitely be back.
We paid for a week left early. Not welcoming to older 12-year-old kids! Should be advertised to adults only. The guy on the golf cart was rude and bossy. I felt I was unwelcomed. Not allowed to have my radio on quietly at 1030. But the golf cart guy can drink and get high and drive around. ‍ never going back and complaining that the kids ate all their ice cream. Isn't that a good thing that $5 for 2 scopes is expensive? Sold out and he was upset. Don't drink and drive around picking fights with your guest!! That's my review
Hard to pick an appropriate star rating but I will try my hardest to give an adequate review to reflect my star choice. The park was small, which isn’t necessarily a negative thing but it was even to small to bicycle around. The playground is a homemade wooden play structure. Nothing else for the small kids to do other than that. There was once a beach volleyball court but it is completely overgrown and a small one-on-one basketball court for older kids. There is an off-leash dog area which is lovely and large. The pool is small and shallow all the way across 4ft but clean and salt water which is nice. Rules for the pool no jumping no diving and the hours are 9-6, which on a hot day 6 is way to early to close. There is a beach but it is all rock with a lot of algae growth, water shoes are highly recommended. The lake is also quite weedy, but is great for fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding. The bathrooms are very industrial, block walls, painted concrete floors that are peeling showers are functional. The washrooms were cleaned multiple times a day and always stocked with toilet paper and paper towels. Like the pool the park store is closed at 6 every day of the week so if your plan is to walk up for an ice cream cone in the evening it’s not going to happen here. Campsites are clean, interior sites are quite small. Wifi is offered but most content is restricted no streaming. Closest town is Picton and although it’s only 12kms away it’s a 25 minute drive. Sandbanks is 30 minute drive don’t forget to prebook you day passbut so worth it. My opinion is this would be a great adults rv park, but for kids of all ages and families there isn’t much to do.
Very nice site overlooking the lake. Clean washrooms and pool area. Friendly staff. We ran into electrical problems and 5 guys spent a long time fixing it for us
Friendly staff and welcoming seasonal campers. We had a blast. 5 days went by to fast. Rebooked for next year.
Love it, great park, great owners. Very quiet and pieceful. We will be going back for sure.
What an adorable campground. South Bay on Lake Ontario is a hidden gem! The beach is lovely here. The owners knocked our first impression of this park out of the park! We booked months ago and 2 of our party had bought bigger trailers since we originally booked. The owner was adding gravel to our site when we arrived to make sure everything would work out and personally guided both trailers into our spot. Our neighbour had a tire/valve blow and the owner of the park brought over all the equipment needed to do the repair and checked in multiple times with him to make sure all was fixed. We will definitely return here again, our best park this summer!
