One season they forgot to put the plugs in after summerizing. Boat overheated first day out in summer 2 miles from shore. Long paddle back with 3000lb boat. No apologies from owner. Should have left then, but went to store my boat that season, owner quoted me his price, THEN CHARGED ME 20% AFTER HE HAD IT IN STORAGE!!! He said I was lying, and apparently my wife and son who were with me were lying too. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS MARINA!

Went here to look for a fuel pump for my boat. The hours posted on the door said they were open at 8:00 am, and I showed up at 8:30 am, but both gates were locked. Walked in to talk to someone working there and was harshly told that "you need to leave, because the boss isn't here yet." Could have at least said he could call the boss and see what time they will actually open or at least nicely say "we're not open." Absolutely unacceptable way to run a business. They will see zero of my business or any of my friends in the future.

Bought our boat this summer took a month and a half to even get it on the water. Took it out ended up broken after the first time took it back to get fixed, granted he fixed it no extra cost, but took another 3 weeks to get it back, now the engine is out, after being told it was in perfect condition. My husband and I are now trying to refinance to fix the damn thing, and the dealer made the lien out incorrectly!!! So fighting with the bank to fix it is impossible! Don't purchase from here! We've purchased it about 5 months ago, and because the dealership has no idea what he's doing we have yet to receive our tax title and license for it. Can't refinance to fix the hunk of junk and it's just sitting in our garage rotting.

Very satisfied customer!! Don't let the congestion of customers deter you from doing business with Fred, (my question is: when does this guy sleep or take time off?) We purchased our first boat "used" and waited almost 4 weeks to take delivery due to ordering a bimini top for it. (we were thanked over and over for our patients and being so nice) We picked it up on a super busy Saturday morning and although Fred had customers coming out of every corner, he took us out on the water to personally show us the "ropes" of the boat. 1 week later as we were waiting in line to dock the boat for a little while; every time we tried to put it in reverse while waiting our turn, the engine would squeal something fierce and the ignition was hard to turn - to the point we thought the key would break off. We took it back and 4 days later they called to say it was fixed and ready to go, that we would have to pay for the labor, but not parts. Not knowing that he does not provide warranty on boats, I called and spoke to Fred himself and asked about it, in which he informed me of the no warranty policy but he said that we would not have to pay for anything. I believe that with our patients, understanding, and not giving attitude about the timing or the initial talk of us paying for the fix really goes a long way in how customers are treated(with any business). I will recommend Smith II Marine, Fred, Marsha, and the gang every day of the week. Great people to talk to, learn and buy from. THANK YOU!! all at Smith II Marine for such a great experience with our first boat. (yellow four winns)
