Lori Lawrence, Health Care Professional in the practice of dental hygiene, opened the doors to "Smile Sensations Independent Dental Hygiene Clinic" 3 1/2 years ago-a rewarding change after working in the traditional dental settings for 27 years. Simply put, I am in control of my professional career. I have the freedom to practice Dental Hygiene the way I was trained.
The clients that have sought out my services have come because they truly appreciate "Quality Care". By allowing much more time for dental hygiene appointments we develop a trusting relationship with each other. It also allows me to take the time to get to know my clients' individual wants and needs. The critical role oral health plays in overall health and wellness is becoming better understood. Our role as dental professionals is changing from managers of specific local conditions such as gum disease, to helping our clients understand the "whole body" connection of oral health in disease prevention and provide them with the tools to help them take charge of their own health. Providing guidance through relevant research and education is a key component in my practice. Quite honestly my clients have taught me to strive to be better every day.
