An okay cafe, mid sized, good seating selection. A good place if you just need to work or read a book. Chairs a not exactly too comfortable. I dog the art vibe here 8/10. Place is blasting cold air and not in a " cold air on a hot day" kind of way. I had a brownie which was very good but coffee quality 4.6/10 and the baristas aren't too knowledgable on how to make anything. Overall 5.3/10 would not recommend. Find yourself another one around there's a bunch.
What a cool, relaxed, and calm shoppe! Staff are incredibly friendly and kind. Terrific coffee and muffins, among other goodies and snacks. Love the local artists showcased throughout, and didn't expect such a spacious section downstairs. Just wish there were allergen-free options...
I was not super impressed with Slanted Door for breakfast. I hear their coffee is amazing, but the breakfast sandwich I had was not great I did not understand the inclusion of pickles and their hot chocolate was not chocolatey enough. The vegetarian options were available, but were not good. The art inside the shop is beautiful and the space is accessible including a washroom for people with physical disabilities.
OK this review is just on their energy balls. They were fantastic. Not too sweet lots of nuts and there was two versions when I was there a peanut butter and a chocolate peanut butter and the chocolate peanut butter was not overly sweet it was very nice. I did get a Americano and it was OK but I went back the next day as I was in the neighbourhood to get more energy balls. The café itself was full of people doing work at the tables. it’s pretty spacious but busy I would just go back for the energy bars. They have other things as well I think some breakfast sandwiches and croissants but I didn’t try those
The coffee is not so bad for sure, but is really expensive. I’ve paid 11 CAD for a small coffee and a mini tart. I can’t believe even another fancy coffee places at Queen or Downtown are less expensive than here. The service/barista are not really friendly. Unfortunately, I think this is my last time coming here.
Visited Slanted Door last week and it was such a relaxing and soft space to be in to focus and get work done. The baristas are seriously the sweetest people ever and care so much about customer experience. I will definitely return - the annex's true hidden gem!!
Great music and ambience in general. The staff is friendly and effective. The drinks and food are tasty and reasonably priced. The bathrooms are spacious, clean and gender neutral. A big plus if you want to work is that there's lots of power outlets. Definitely recommend this place!
this cafe is definitely the best from all of the coffee shops i’ve visited in this area compared to the mallo and wildhearts in terms of how cozy and spacious it is. i would say thats about it, only reason to visit this place is just for its vibes. everything is overpriced. my cortado costed me something around $3.65 and it wasnt worth the purchase. wouldn’t come back.
Went today and got the Red Eye coffee with a shot of espresso and it was everything I was hoping for. The lineup was a testament to how good the coffee was. The staff were super friendly and the atmosphere was chatty and positive. Great place all around!
Love to go to this art cafe to study! <3 The vibes are really good and it's so cute. I don't recommend the smoothies though unless you are trying to be very healthy... everything else on the menu is good!
