I have a wonderful experience every time I come into this cute little shop. The staff are generally helpful and answer any silly questions I have, and create a welcoming space. Nice variety of local artists to shop from. My wife gifted me a certificate for a private class, I can't wait to get my hands dirty!
Avoid visiting this place and save your time. The staff are bad tempered and unfriendly. Hundred percent agree with another reviewer. There are wonderful other pottery studios in Toronto like Clay With Me that are welcoming with warm positive energy.
We did a workshop at Clay Design and had an amazing experience! Phillis was very welcoming and a great teacher. We got to try different types of activities and made really nice pieces. Perfect for a date or if you’re just looking to try something new :
Great selection of different artists' clay work for purchase, either in store limited pandemic hours at the moment or online/curbside pickup. Reasonable prices and great options for gifts. The pottery studio is amazing, the instructors are very experienced ceramicists and the set up is much better than other studios I've taken classes at.
Denise and Phillis were masterful at their craft, patient and fun! 3hrs went by in a blink of an eye. I really enjoyed the pottery class and totally recommend it whether it be for date night or just to try something new. :
Did a private lesson with Dennise for mother's day - great experience! She explained and showed the techniques to us thoroughly, and answered any questions we had. When we needed help, she was readily available, but didn't breathe down our backs. You can make as many pieces as you want within your time frame - no limit on materials, which is very nice. She even let us stay a little longer to finish up our last pieces before her next class. Will definitely be going back!
Well, after searching for clay studios in Toronto, my partner and I walked in this place me feeling very excited as ceramics is my thing. However, we both got upset with the reaction of the staff. She didn’t even bothered herself to answer our greeting. Not a word. She ruined my expectations and we both left the store immediately.
Had the most fun this weekend at the studio. Phillis was an amazing teacher and we shared some good laughs. I'd highly recommend :
My partner and I took a class with Phillis and the entire experience was such a delight! Would highly recommend for a couple or a group!
Amazing clay studio with beautiful works of functional clayware. Phylis and the Thursday clay class are the best!
