The food is great. I personally ordered the standard Tteokbokki, and everything was fresh and vibrant, which is what you want. The Tteokbokki was cooked properly and wasn't gummy or undercooked. The service was excellent too; the guy who helped us was attentive and patient. The only gripe I have with the establishment is the lack of seating, but in their defense, the place is quite small, so there is only so much you can do. Because of the pricing and the quality of food, I would recommend giving it a try.
A small little place for Korean rice cakes, some dishes were great but others were a huge miss.... as I've had better ones in Korean supermarket hot sections. Service was amazing but for the prices they charged, some of their dishes were definitely not worth it.Food: 3/5
Probably one of the best kimbap's I've had in the city - the ingredients were really fresh. Had to wait a while to get our food, but it was definitely worth it. Rice cakes were the perfect chewiness. Had both the regular and the rose sauce for the ttokboki, and was equally pleased with them. Definitely a good place for cheap eats if you want to eat alone, and the portion sizes are also good if you want to share with people.
Very good quick serve option for Korean street food mainly tteokbokki. There aren't a lot of seats so be prepared if you want to dine in. 4/5 mainly because of the price everything is a paid add-on, no fish cakes in the tteokbokki but the taste is great and very authentic.
This place was amazing!!!! BUT GET ROSÉ NOT ORIGINAL TOPOKKI!!!!! The food was really good, I got original topokki mild, with fish cakes, my friend got rosé, mild with cheese topping. My mouth was on fiiiiire. The food was so good, but even though mild, one bite and it's soo spicy I was dying and I eat spicy. While the rose one is mixture of sweet too, so it's not as spicy and it tastes to much better. Because we eat Halal food only, we ended up getting tuna kimbap and Vermicelli dumplings. Service and food was great. I'm sad there's only two locations, this one and one up north York. But the food was so good. The space is small though. Like 5 tables or so. Limit is one hour eating when it gets full not that you need long . I loved they played kpop too!
The location is quite small and my friend & I visited on a weekend so it was bustling! We ordered takeout because of the limited seating. We ordered the rosé tteokboki with thick vermicelli and cheese on top. Also some fried seaweed rolls and squid rings to dip in the sauce and it was amazing. We ordered mild spice level and it was still quite spicy!! But SO delicious. It was super hot and perfectly cooked. Will definitely visit again!
Food was delicious and the ricecake combo was so varied with a unique style. We got two rice cake stews, a sushi roll, fried rice and a basket of fried goodies. Combo also came with canned pop. The sitting area only has a couple of tables but the line at dinner rush hour was quite long. Be prepared to wait to be seated during popular times.
Food is great! Seems like a really popular spot. We went during peak hours and oh boy, the cashier and two other staff were overwhelmed with orders. I wish the owner could hire one more employee to help them out. The whole experience is a little bit chaotic due to its tiny seating space and the wait time is about half an hour. I'd suggest order a take-out and go after peak hours for their great food!
5- 03/11/2023 - I came here because I heard this place was affordable and delicious. I love tteokbokki so I had to give it a try. I ordered the Rosé Tteokbokki and it was amazing, the taste definitely satisfied my cravings, the portion was filling and price was amazing. The atmosphere was quiet, I noticed that when I went there was a lot of students here studying or reading a book. Highly recommend coming here! I will definitely add this place as one of my to go to for tteokbokki cravings if I’m nearby the area.
I really liked their tteobokki - it was so chewy and such a great texture! I had the original and mild, it was just the right spiciness for me. The sauce tasted like gochujang mixed with a lot of ramen powder and msg… aka tasted great. The one downside is the price- i still find it incredibly expensive for street food i paid around $26 after tax and tip for the combo set 2 in the pic esp when there are no toppings cheese was $3 extra which is too steep in my opinion. The fish cake that came with it was mediocre - it tasted a little stale to me. I would suggest ordering takeout as the seating was not comfortable and it is a bit stuffy inside! Theres only 5 tables of 2 in total.
