I sincerely hope no one has to go through what i went through because of them. They charged about 170 bucks for something i had not done. Called them to inquire the sindecuse people didn’t try to understand what was going on instead directly me to another department to talk to saying they were the ones dealing with billing. They treated me as international student when i repeated told them i’m not. They have not updated their system it seems. When finally the billing issue was going somewhere they called and said you have to do the procedure it is required and if you don’t we will put a hold on your account. Didn’t try to understand my situation nor tried to help me understand. Now, i have set a appointment which i don’t want to, to get the procedure done.
No help whatsoever, I've gone there 3 times for sinus infections and they didn't do anything for me
Don't go there! They tell you they will bill your insurance company, but then they bill you after a year and blame it on the insurance company. They say they have assistance fund for students to help but then manipulate you saying this is only for students without insurance. When you come to them saying i don't have insurance, they say the fund is only for students with insurance who thier insurance did not pay for them! I was in both situations but they didn't even care to help. They manipulate students. Chase them to come for more testing they don't understand. Not good doctors! They are just practicing except for one or two doctors. prices are not that affordable for students. Just go to Family health center instead.
In Sindecuse people who have retired from Western Michigan University can no longer go and to get lab work done. Retired people used to be able to get doctor to send lab work orders Sindecuse to filled, the retired person would pay, but they no longer work with the former employees. Thanks from former employee!!!
If you are a WMU student, DO NOT go to Sindecuse. They will try to do whatever they can to squeeze every last penny out of you. Back in the Fall, I went to Sindecuse for a COVID test to ensure participation in a school-related function. I was not permitted for a COVID test until I completed a “telehealth” appointment, which was about 2 minutes long and they asked me the same three questions that we completed on our daily health screenings. I was then charged $80 for the appointment and additional costs for the test. As far as I can tell, they care more about exploiting WMU students than tending to their health.
Does not answer calls whatsoever. I’m a fully vaccinated and booster shot student who is getting emails telling me I have mandatory Covid testing. This issue is happening to a lot of people, so answer the phone and help us out.
very bad in processing the bills. I had to spent many hours to contact my insurance and send emails, reimbursement forms and required documents, etc, by myself!
This is the first primary care doctor I've had and still stick with. Dr. Lean is a doctor I trust, who cares about his patients and their educational well being too. Dr. Ruggerio is perceptive, she is confident in knowing how to help and problem solve. The online health portal is convenient, and the wait times are relatively short. If you're a student, you might find Sindecuse to be the best choice for health care. Their safety measures regarding the pandemic is unparalleled and they treat co-vid cases pretty quickly.
I have been going to Sindecuse Health Center for 5 years or so now. This is what I have to say about it: This health establishment is the best when you need to get in somewhere right away. If I have an issue, I can usually get in later that day or early the next day no problem! That is such a plus. This is where I receive nearly all of my primary care. I have had a GREAT experience with the front desk staff and receptionists as well as the pharmacists here I get scripts filled every month here so I am in constant contact with them. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming. When you call about even “embarrassing” matters they are very comforting and professional. As for the medical care... I have received great care here from most of the doctors. There are some I would prefer to never see again because they seemed ill-informed and judgmental, but any hospital you go to you will probably experience that. You have to make informed decisions about your health, don’t see that doctor again if they make you feel uncomfortable. My recommendation to those going to sindecuse is to try out multiple doctors that work here and see which one you click with the best during your appointments if you plan to go here during your time at WMU. I have seen if not all, nearly every doctor they have here over the years and most of them are absolutely great! I think it’s very important to feel comfortable with who you’re seeing at the health center. Personally I think Dr. Lean is the greatest. He is very caring and well informed, and if he isn’t sure he will tell you the honest truth about his uncertainty, and to never hesitate to call his assistant with any concerns. He explains the diagnosis thoroughly and you won’t leave the office feeling confused about what’s going on or rushed. That’s everything you can ask for from a doctor. Overall I’ve experienced great care here at Sindecuse and I would definitely refer students to go here!!
Seemed very overpriced. For those with insurance, I'm sure it doesn't really matter much, but for those without, going here was significantly more expensive Almost twice as than my normal physician, who is simply in a different part of the state, but is much more experienced. I only went once, which when I asked how much it would be to basically talk with someone, they told me that it is normally more expensive on the first visit, but subsequent visits are less. I don't know how much less, but I don't think I really got a good value on my first visit.
