My fiance and I booked a pie bar for our October wedding with Heather the owner in February. We felt like she was overcharging for what we ordered 26 pies for 140 guests but it was really important to us to serve pie at our wedding. We paid half of the agreed amount at the time of booking as a deposit. Late September, she contacts us to confirm our order and tells us she can't wait to see our wedding photos. She requested the second half of the payment 3 weeks in advance of our wedding day and we did end up paying her in advance. About a week before our wedding, I find out via Instagram that she would be in Toronto during the weekend of our wedding. Concerned that our venue won't have contact information, we call Heather to ask who we can contact for pie delivery and she gives us a name and number to reassure us that the pies will be delivered. An hour before our reception, our venue informs us that the pies have not been delivered, and the delivery contact person has informed them that she "no longer works for Heather". My fiance was able to contact Heather on the day of our wedding but she offered no solutions. The best she could do was deliver 10 pies. On top of that, the chef from our venue told us that they were delivered UNCOOKED. Thank god our venue had some desserts refrigerated and baked the delivered pies during dinner. Our venue billed Shut Ur Pie Hole for the replacement desserts but we are still waiting for Heather to refund our payments to her AT THE VERY LEAST. She does not provide good customer service at all, despite all of our attempts to confirm the delivery. At that point, we felt that there is no way she could have accidentally forgotten. If anything, she should have been honest and apologized ahead of time to allow us to choose another bakery. I am a very tolerant and patient person, so I would have been understanding if we were notified in advance. I have never been felt so mistreated by any business/business owner in my life.
If you are looking for a pie bar for a special event or wedding, and you feel like paying for a bunch of overpriced pies, months in advance, and then never having them show up for your wedding; this is the place for you. Not only did we get overcharged for our pies, we paid in full, and they never showed up for our wedding. We have yet to be formally contacted by Heather with an apology and we've been told to wait nearly 2 weeks to get our money back. I'm embarrassed that we relied on her and her company on such a special day.
Shut Ur Pie Hole was a HUGE disappointment on my friends wedding day. I had previously heard bad things about the way the owner of this company conducts business but crossed my fingers and hoped for the best for my friend because I know how much she enjoys the pies. However, when the day of the wedding comes and the venue/bridesmaids/bride have to start calling the company two hours after they were supposed to be there after having already been bumped to a later delivery, and let's face it, she should've contacted US long before we even realized something was wrong, there isn't a lot of good left to say. Not only did Heather make very little effort to resolve the issue, she had no valid explanation as to why she was unable to deliver on her order. Thank God the venue staff were AMAZING and ran out to buy pies from Sobeys which this "specialty" pie place suggested as an alternative to the expected gourmet desserts that the bride already purchased and was expecting. The lack of consideration for the couple on their special day was absolutely disappointing.
As far as I am aware her pies are good. I wouldn't know because the pies that were supposed to show up for my friends Wedding Pie Bar were never delivered. This was a major disappointment for every one at the wedding. Fortunately for us the Venue went above and beyond to remedy the situation and didn't wait for Shut Your Pie Hole.
My friends ordered and pre-paid for a pie bar for their wedding this past weekend, to be delivered at 12:00 day-of. Come 4:00, the venue informed us no pies had been delivered. We reached out to Heather shockingly not the other way around only to learn that just 12 of the 33 pies ordered had actually been made. Luckily the venue came through and provided store-bought pies, as Heather's never showed up. Very disappointed in this company and I will never do business with them.
Brother in-laws wedding was planned for Oct,21/2017 at Bridges golf course. They pre-paid Heather in full $1100 dollars for 30 some pies for their pie bar. They phoned countless times on the day of the wedding she said she only had 12 pies ready but didn't deliver any. Heather has gave them the run around since then and hasn't repaid them as of Nov,13/17. Do not buy pies from this place the owner is a crook!!
I bought a mini pie for about $7 and a full-sized pie for about $20 at the St. Norbert Farmer's Market a couple months ago. The mini pie was literally 2 bites which contained mainly a dry crust and a spoonful of filling. Whereas the larger pie had very little flavour, the crust was also dry, and let's just say you can get a better tasting pie at Safeway or Sobey's. I like that the ingredients are natural, however, the pies are overpriced and they don't taste that good. Don't waste your money.
My good friend paid for pies a year in advance for her wedding. They never showed up. Contacted owner...she could care less....told us that she was out of town and couldn't be bothered dealing with it. My friend said she wants her money back and is having issues getting her money back. Please don't order from this lady. You will not get your pies or your money. So disappointed :
Love the pies. My husband's favorite is the lemon meringue. I'm partial to the pecan. Kids love all the dessert pies. Best crust ever and the jars are an ingenious idea, great for throwing in a cooler for summer days boating and picnicking. Highly recommend.
Simply the best pie around. Lemon meringue and pecan are my favourites. The crust they make is amazing there is never any left over when I bring it home and we always want more. It's worth the drive to find this amazing Winnipeg gem.
