Sherbourne Optical

I try to support local businesses, even when it may cost more. Two glasses purchased two years ago went well. This time the written quote went up by more than $400 when I went to pay the balance. Why bother pointing out that it's illegal to modify a written contract by trying to change it verbally? They had already wasted so much of my time. So much for customer loyalty. I suspect that they don't want to do business with people who look like me.

They have a nice range of frames, much better than a lot of the other opticians but it was so difficult to deal with the optician himself. I had given him my prescriptions obtained elsewhere and disclosed my budget. But nothing was easy. Instead of proceeding with quoting for the glasses I'd chosen, he literally  brought out a laptop with various lenses to "test" Seriously? Because screens are different sizes he told me!! Whilst apparently being offered a "good deal" there was continual up-selling. It was hard to understand what was being said and I kept being contradicted by him so I left. No my idea of customer service. I won't go back.

The guy checked my insurance and told me that my insurance covers 100% of my glass so he pushed me to buy the expensive frame. Unfortunately the insurance did not cover all, so I had to pay around $180 from my pocket. After a week I went to the store & told the guy that my insurance did not covered the whole amount, the guy beame so rude and said I don't know. Never going back to this store again.

I visited this optician 3 years ago and he insisted - despite my questions - that I do not need glasses. His eye exam took less than 10 minutes. Now I discover from a good and thorough exam that lasted about 30 minutes that he was wrong and that my eyesight has been deteriorating rapidly these past 3 years. This is a doctor who likes to take shortcuts and doesn’t really care about your eye health or vision at all.

Hello I would like to share an experience. I have 2 pair of glasses exactly the same but both broken, I try to get my new prescription but right now impossible for the dispute with the government, I understand clearly. What I don't understand is that I beg for help to fix my glasses to many different opticals in the city and all was denied. I step into Sherbourne optical, explain my situation to a lady named ARLENE, who without excitation grab my glasses and fix them in the spot only charging me $3 fur the new screw used, refusing receive money fir her service. Great customer service! I got an eye exam + purchased a pair of glasses. I've been to many eye exams before and I'm starting to think the other ones I had done were a complete scam. They're very informative and helpful here, I learned so much about glasses and my eyes. Thank you!

They are super friendly and offer reasonable price. They offered to fix my sunglasses for free if the screws loosen again

A screw came out of my glasses and I am way to big and clumsy to fix it. They fixed it for free and also re-bent a part of my glasses that was bent the wrong way.

I have been dealing with them since 2016, always have new frame with good price. I recommanded this place for anyone want style and good service.
