We had to make a quick stop so that my daughter and I could change out of our beach clothes into something nicer for a lobster cruise we were going on we were on a long road trip, with no hotel room to go back to at that time. This gas station has the nicest bathroom I've seen. Lol. It was very clean with a nice long counter. Couldn't have picked a better spot to stop under the circumstances.
Stopped in for a top off after arriving on our first trip onto PEI. The procedure is that you pump first, then park and go inside to pay. This is to speed up things for other folks that might be waiting. While fueling, a nice gentleman and welcomed us to the island. Obviously my license plate and trim give us away as not being locals, by a long shot. We spoke for a few minutes since no one was waiting behind me. That was very nice. Then we went inside to pay only to run into other folks that were also very nice. Since inside, I washed my hands. The wash room was clean as the store. All in all, a nice little place.
What a pleasant surprise! After our 11 hour drive, this Shell was a sight for sore eyes! My husband came from Spain and was floored! We took photos out front, and then were greeted inside by Matthew who was helpful, friendly and quickly reassured us that we were at the right Shell. Great chip selection. SO CLEAN I WOULD EAT HERE!!
I prefer Shell over Irving and Esso. But, what makes this Shell even better is that its locally owned!!! Not only do they have all of your typical gas station products, they also have a souvenir shop, and cottage rentals! Their bathroom is even absolutely gorgeous!? Its also really clean too! I highly suggest stopping at Howatt's Shell when traveling to PEI!
Great stop before getting on the bridge. Had everything you need at a gas station. Lots of options and good location.
