I had purchased a Pool Cue for $180.00. Took it to my first Pool League tournament to find out the cue was broken, the tip was botched and made a echoing sound. I called, the one Manager was sympathetic and informed me I could bring it back and they’d give me store credit… Reasonable! However, upon returning the cue and having to drive from Red Deer to return the cue GAS $$$? These days I was met with, “you don’t have a receipt , I’m bending the rules” and take it or leave it attitude + we won’t give you your money back! What else am I supposed to do? Seeing they will not give me my money back $$$ and The second manager playing the bad cop but seemingly giving me a deal while not honouring their product sold or even the gas $$$ and the fact that I trusted the “POOL CUE” was legit…. Definitely NOT A PLACE I WOULD BUY ANYTHING FROM AGAIN… Due to their Policy and how they treat someone who has purchased couple hundred dollars from their store. Having a I don’t care attitude and making it seem like it was my fault for the faulty Pool Cue “THEY SOLD” me. And then of top of this having to pay another $200.00 on top of, for another cue that was the closest to the one I bought in the first place. Again! THINK TWICE BEFORE BUY ANYTHING FROM SHARKYS PAWN SHOP… I did not feel respected or valued by Management. Edit: I had the receipt in the back of my truck and informed the manager that I could go get it. Manager stated no! I already looked it up in our system, so no need for the receipt . Also who sell a bunk Pool Cue that is defective? No matter what the customer experience is? Seems like the Pawn Shop is always right? Seems like! Negotiated a fair deal on a hard to find LNIB Spyderco knife, online communications were excellent, item was packed and shipped within hours of sending emt payment. Item arrived in a timely fashion and is in like new, unused condition. Highly Recommended!

Read a review before hand warning me not to go to this place as they had a bad run in. Thinking hey could happen to anyone I followed up none the less to find my own results and I too came to the same conclusion. After briefly looking over my products for no more then 15 seconds the guy told me he had zero interest in the item I was offering insta 360 one X and that they were only taking Go pros. He pretended to go back to his computer desk to look up the product and came back telling me he didn’t want them. Had he looked up the value or what the camera did he may feel stupid to know that the product was a better version of go pro going even further in sport technology and camera quality. I straight up laughed at the arrogance of this employee and took my stuff to another pawn shop not to far away where they offered me almost exactly what I wanted in value. When faced with going here don’t bother, extend your business elsewhere.
They can’t accept the mistakes they have made and then when someone calls them out, it get deleted. Judging my wife because she took transit and came with the item in her backpack so it was safe in travels. I wouldn’t go here in you want to be respected. Go down the street and they will treat you fantastic!!
Today is 08/10/2022. They put an add on kijiji for an Apex mic set for $140.00. I drove from the S.E. to the N.W. to waste my gas money and time because they forgot to take down their ad. Then they tried to sell me an identical mic set for $195.00 because they have different 'line numbers' I call that false advertising for the same product. I'm extremely disappointed in them. They could've had a long term customer.
I went in with my canon camera that was gifted to me, and I understand it’s older but not by much. The gentleman that helped me judged me by the fact that I take transit and had to carry my camera in the bag in my back pack because I didn’t want to risk damaging it in the travels by having it just swinging around on my side and as well I didn’t want to risk theft as I’m a small woman so I took precautions. This gentleman judged that and the fact that I didn’t know much about the camera in general because it was a gift that I didn’t ask for so it’s been sitting in my closet so I decided to try and sell it as I’ve had a family emergency. He judged me based on appearance because I looked stressed out from finding out the knowledge of the family emergency. I feel like because the camera was in my back pack for protection and because it was a gift I didn’t want and knew nothing about he refused to help me. He instead told me my camera was to old and there was no demand for them he wouldn’t even offer to pawn it for me. I am incredibly disappointed in the service I received here. I needed help and they kept popping up in my searches so I said hey I’ll give them a go and this is what happened. Yes it’s older however, it looks brand new because it’s been sitting in a camera bag virtually untouched. Now I’m stuck without anyway to help my family because I’m afraid to go into another shop and have this experience. Maybe they are a great shop and I’m sure many people have had great experiences here but I needed to share how this experience made me feel because while I understand there’s a lot of not so great people out there, however there are still a lot of good people out there who just need some help once in a while and I happen to be one of those people who just needed a little help to help my family.

Stay away if you're buying used PC's. These guys definitely live up to their name. I bought a R6 PC from them. however. and the hard-drive was damaged. Buyer beware. 1 They don't enforce social distancing. I had people bumping into me to see products. They do spray everyone's hands, which is cool, however; they can't seem to manage how many customers are in the store at a time. 2 Customer service was very poor. initially when I called into their store to get pricing they told me they would call me back in an hour and they never did. I had to call them back again to check on them and they still didn't have the price. I had to replace my computer and the guy who was helping me out was often told to help other customers out right in the middle of him doing something for me. While these guys stand there at the computer doing nothing. My sales guy was nice however I was just fed up with the long wait. I nearly walked out twice and the sales guy had to holler at me to stay. They either need to prevent the flow of traffic that comes into the store, or they need to let a salesperson do their job. It is RUDE to help multiple customers at the same time especially when I am doing a high ticket purchase. 3 The only positive thing they they did was give me a good deal on the PC $200 off their price. 4 The salesperson went and took my PC somewhere to blow out the dust inside the computer this is when I suspect when he damaged the hard-drive. When I first came in the hard-drive was fine and I saw to hard-drives in windows. But, when he took it to the back , he never put the computer back on so I didn't know I was going to have an issue until I got home. Also, the sales person said that the mouse and keyboard were included and then later told me they were not included. 5 When I get home I didn't see the 1T drive being registered on my computer so I open up the drive to notice that the cord to the drive was broken. The prongs were bent and the sata cable female end had the components of the male end it. 6 I waited till they opened again to call him to let them know my issue. The first thing the guy did instead of apologizing was reprimand me for opening the hardware. I am a computer guy of course I am going to diagnose the problem before I call them. I got very angry with his a accusatory response and then he put me on hold to calm me down that just made me more angry. When he came back he told me "We were GOOD to you". Oh yeah? I think it was the other way around. The only reason why I came to sharkys was because they already had a prebuilt PC to buy, I could of be able to upgrade my current computer for the same price with new hardware. I was such a fool. After spending $1200 on a laptop you would expect some humility and customer service, but he was already on the attack. He said that if I didn't open it then they could of seen what they could do, but I almost think that they would of accused me of opening the drive "because when you were in the store it was fine". I WAS aware that it was final sale, however, they sold me a bad "bag of goods". I am very disappointed in his response. i USED TO SHOP THERE often but I will bring my business elsewhere, they obviously don't give a damn about their customers health nor do they care about people who spend more than $1000 in their store. Now, I have a paperweight and will be forced to spend me money more now of a salesperson negligence. I will never forget this experience as it will be burnt in my mind when I wasted $1200 at sharkys. I think what makes this all sting is the lack of respect for me on the phone. The customer service made things even worst, making it the worst buy experience I ever had. I will be waiting for the day when the internet puts companies like these out of business. It's not IF, its when. BUYER BEWARE
