Really fantastic food. And the staff were really attentive and polite. It had a good atmosphere, you could go and have a nice dinner or there was a bar and pool table to hangout at. The presentation of the food was really great too, they clearly put a lot of effort into the food. I would recommend this place to anyone.

For the indian food lovers looking for that authentic indian food taste - then Shalimar is the place for you! Been there thrice already. Absolutely love the food, soothing ambiance, amazing customer service and very accommodating owners. This place will give you the value for your money. One of the best Indian restaurants i have come across. Definitely worth a try!!

My husband and I decided to try this restaurant out and visit another area of Toronto. We ordered our Main meals which consisted of lamb, chicken, vegetable, rice and naan bread...at first we thought the portions are small but then after we were eating it...we found we were full than before. The atmosphere is wonderfully warm and it's cozy too. Loved the Film noir style movie set at the back, Bollywood style. Reasonably priced and we needed to be carted out if we had the chance...would go back for sure.

Just hosted my Birthday party there, the service was too slow, did not refill the appetizers when the trays were empty!!! did not serve the tea - though it was included in the package. Charged extra for it after the party finished! Moreover, one of my guests ask for the tea with the appetizers, the server asked MY GUEST to pay extra and told her that " your host package does not include tea"!!! VERY VERY DISAPPOINTING experience ... I sent a separate e-mail with my experience to the owner - NO RESPONSE!! very UNPROFESSIONAL! DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE

Food is terrible and so is the service, when we actually asked for papad for appetizer , we ended up getting "khakhara" which is no way nearer to papad. service was so terrible that we didn't even get big dishes for our main course. i understand that it is a new restaurant and they are not used to it , but it actually breaks my heart when they call it this "indian"which is not anywhere near to Indian authenticity. whoever gave good ratings earlier, i feel sorry for them that they haven't tasted better indian food than this.

Food was great, but the stupid guy made me pay 300 bucks for a lunch party. Except for the microphone and the audio system it wasn't very good condition, poor sound quality and one of the waiters stunk like a typical and poor waiter, at least two or three spritz of love kills slowly should be applied to the body.

Would not go back, nor recommend. Meal for 2 with 1 app and only water was $60. Portions v small. Veg pakora heavy and pasty in the middle, not light and crisp as the best are. Lamb rogan josh had tasty sauce but what looked like only 4 pieces of meat which turned out to be 2 pieces of meat and 2 large bones. For $14!!! When this was pointed out the waiter told me he would tell his butcher, not sure how relevant that was nor how it helped me. Very disappointing, note to self, cook at home.

There are many great restaurants cropping up in Brampton. I wanted to try something new. I heard about Shalimar on Twitter and drove by it several times. So I googled and read all of the reviews, some of them extremely good and some extremely bad. So I decided to try out this restaurant and see for myself. I must say off the bat I had a great experience. It is an upscale restaurant but had a cosy pub feel to it. They have their own in house draught beer which is delicious. We had the Soya sticks served with spicy sauce and had a hakka appetizer called Manchurian. They were both delicious. Tandoori roti with Methi Malai Mattar creamy gravy with peas and fenugreek leaves was also very good. We ended our meal with Rasmalai for dessert. The waitress who served us was very friendly and sweet. Overall I had a pleasant experience and will definitely return. The restaurant is also accessible.

The food is good. It isn't the best Indian food I've had, though. The service on average is slow-ish, perhaps not necessarily worth the wait since the food is just okay unless you have some time to spare. Overall, not terrible though.

The hosts and hostesses were top notch. Service with a smile, food was delicious and the drinks are cold. However if you want a hotter Indian expierience then show up at night on the weekends for some cultural dancing.
