Absolutely delicious I am from Ontario, came last week to British Columbia. We saw this restaurant right beside the highway and thought to stop by for an early supper. To our surprise I had one of the most delicious ribs in years and also the fish and chips very crispy outside and soft inside. Perfectly cooked & served. Thank you to the chef who did an amazing job! I wish to visit again the next time I’ll travel to the west. Cheers
Don't waste your time. The servers are rude. The manager doesn't know anything about service or ESA animals. Argues with you... "well what if someone has a dog allergy?" You're the manager... figure it out! Then I was served my drink in a filthy glass. Fruit flies EVERYWHERE. Ignored by the waitresses. Then got this pathetic excuse of a poutine for $13 plus tax. I could have gotten the same at Wendy's for half the price. I had high hopes because it was spoken in great light before the pandemic...
This pub is family friendly! It was also interesting for the children to look for all the hidden elves. Good food, fast service, thank you!
The server was hospitable and the establishment is clean with a nice mountain lodge pub feel. The bison and the turkey were absolutely delicious. The beer on tap had a bit of a weird taste and we let our server know. To our surprise the owner came out to talk with us about the issue and assured us they are actively working towards a solution. Hopefully that gets sorted soon. Thank you for a nice experience.
Perfect stop between Vancouver and Whistler. Good food. Generous poured drinks. Relaxing vibe. Fast service. Clean. Pool table & darts too!
Horrible Do not buy the beef dip Very poor experience. Usually much better Ask for appy before dinner? All came together. Had to wait so long for a second drink? Dinner was almost over
The Shady Tree is a Squamish landmark, and a place to bring family, friends, or even just yourself for a treat! The original owners fell under financial strain during the pandemic, and sadly decided it was time to retire. The new owners not only restored the Shady, but stayed true to its history. Even going as far as to buy the original recipes the Shady was known for! I would highly recommend it!
Very lively pub! Service was uber fast with a smile! Good pub atmosphere. Food was just ok for pub food. I had the butter chicken and the bf had fish and chips - chips were nice and crispy, the the fish batter was a tad mushy. A year later I went back and had the lasagna - it was delicious! You can also split sides. So if you don want fries only, you can have fries and onion rings. Lots of tvs for additional entertainment.
Service was terribly rude. Food was mediocre and slightly over priced for what it was. We had the onion rings, Shady Burger, beef dip and turkey sandwich. The atmosphere with all of the windows and the beautiful vines on the outside of the pub and the company we shared our meal with were the highlights for sure. May come back for convenience, but not because we would seek it out.
Laid back ambiance. Love the indoor patio surrounded by windows, many of which open wide for fresh air dining when the weather is right. The salmon burger, bison burger, chicken with Brie burger, and side salads were all great. Great food with locally sourced ingredients. Delicious and well priced. Great local draft beer selection as well.
