This was our first, and last, trip to Shades of Sherwood. We were on a "premium" site. Crammed in like sardines and were expected to be able to park our 40ft camper on a lot that was NOT designed for such. We had to park at an angle almost touching the individuals behind us. We were told 3 time that W/E/S was on our site and upon arrival were informed that only seasonal sites have septic availability. We had 7 individuals 2 & up at our site and that makes it difficult when needing a bathroom/water, which fills up your tanks quickly. Everything there pool, inflatables, jumping pad, etc. are only available if you purchase a wristband. Otherwise your kiddo's cannot participate. The store was a joke! I understand that you should pack and be prepared with the basics before you leave, but sometimes things happen and you need to be able to "grab" an item unexpectedly. The store is extremely overpriced and wreaks of mildew, not to mention it was bare. The morning of check out, we waited in line for over an hour to pump out our gray and black tanks. One pumping station lined with rigs! 3-kiddo's in the truck and 2-adults, need I say more? NEVER AGAIN!
We went on our first camping trip as a family on Memorial weekend, we knew it would be busy but there was still plenty of room for us. We pitched our tent right by the river which had a beautiful view. The lake/beach, floats, and tubing were not especially crowded, only thing that was-was the pool, no biggie. Staff was friendly and even helped me jumpstart our SUV when I accidentally drained the battery. Just gotta figure out how to catch those Trout!!! All in all we’ll certainly be back.
Love it. Family friendly. So many activities to keep the kids happy. The tubing set up was nice. A bit of a walk to the launch but love that you leave the tubs at the end. Food truck this year! Nice addition
Love shades of Sherwood. Camp here many times during the summer. Staff is great and they take care of the place. Pet friendly too.
We had a wonderful time! We rented one of their cabins for 2 nights. I will start by saying it was very clean upon arrival. I also was pleased to find out that it actually had 2 bedrooms with a set of bunks in each room. For tiny little cabin it was perfect for our family of 5. The water park was a blast. However I would HIGHLY recommend that any children of any age wear life jackets. My 2 teenage boys and 4 yr old always had theirs on the whole time. It can get a little busy and dangerous at times. Pool was great! All around property was fantastic. They sell pizzas and you can cook them in their pizza oven. Perfect for lunch time. My one any ONLY complaint... please for the love of god buy new bed mattress. They are absolutely terrible. All 5 of us slept terrible. Which is horrible when you're over tired from all the fun! If you are looking for a great time with your kids, this is the perfect place. Just bring a mattress pad. I'm not kidding
Nice place if you have kids. Otherwise very noisy. Was over charged cost was 110.00 more then was told for 3 nights. So for a pop up camper for 3 nights we were charged 274.36 ouch. We unfortunately won’t be back.
Porta potties very full! Disgusting! Way too many cars in the camp area, very hard to get in there with camper on. Too crowded! Other than that it was alright, but won't be returning.
really wonderful campground. Friendly staff. wonderfully serene river front campsites. there was lots of family activities and it was easily accessible.
The kids had a blast here. The beach only has 2 umbrellas so bring a canopy tent, that's what everyone Does. I'd make all kids wear a life jacket because of how far the float things are and how fast it gets deep. They have a trampoline thing but kids get crazy on it especially the boys so watch your kids. Buy wood and ice else wear because it's kinda pricey there.
We rented cabin 4 for a July weekend and we had a blast. The cabin was spacious and clean and had everything we needed. It was also nice to have a lot of space for yard games and it was close to the lake. The staff was awesome, they even lent us a grill when we discovered there weren’t any on the property. The kids had so much fun in the pool, lake, bouncer, peddle cars, tubing down the river and just running around. The mini golf is a pretty run down but still fun. We will be back.
