Service Canada Centre

The male clerk that helped me today was rude and made fun of the spelling of my name. Overhearing the other 2 female clerks on either side you could tell they were pleasant and courteous. The guy needs to get fired or do some more customer service training. At the end as I was leaving he rudely told me that I should probably have a BC ID. Well seeing as I have only my passport for ID right now and you just put a hole through it until I get my new one I told him I didn't have any other ID. He proceeded to condescendingly tell me that I had my birth certificate. Like no buddy some of us were born in a country that still writes birth certificates in their native language all handwritten old school style, so no I dont but thanks for the mansplanation.

Jan 9, 2018 visit to Sinclair Centre. What a difference 24 hours makes! Same Commissionaire was at the entrance greeted and directed us into three queues: rush passport, simplified passport and “all others”. Wait time over 50 minutes and would have been over 1 1/2 hours for the "express line". One person handling simplified passport queue and took 10 minutes for each person. Other wickets were significantly faster. Asked Supervisor for why the delay -- a number of excuses (a typical simplified passport application is supposed to take 1 minute).Supervisor was not interested in fixing the current slow response time (for instance, add a second clerk to process) and was very defensive. So escalated to the Manager, who admitted they were having some shake down problems with the new process. She then offered to process my application right away. Unfortunately five other people who were formerly in front of me still waiting for service! And BTW, my application was handled in less than two minutes. This tells me that the supervisor is not paying attention to his staff or the citizens. Poor service.

Excellent service, always informing you the right way to proceed with your paperwork. I came with lots of questions and all of them were answered at the front desk with a smile. I really Love it!

The majority of the staff there were extremely polite and kind, however, there was one in particular who was extremely rude. He didn't really know what he was doing and when I asked him for help he responded with something that was extremely unprofessional and degrading . My first experience at service Canada was completely ruined by this individual.
