I have been going to this place since it was on east Bissell and I was a kid 36 now I now bring my baby here. the name and Drs have changed but the friendliness and care have always been great. The nurses are amazing and The Drs and staff are nice and caring. It is hard to get into for emergency visits sometimes but the Dr always calls back mostly in a reasonable time.
Excellent care from almost all staff. Very quick to respond to questions on the health portal. Office has up to date equipment and can do some tests in house. Provides a higher level of care than offices in the area with only doctor. Butler Health System now Independence Health System has nicer staff and generally provides better care then UPMC.
I'm not liking this self check in. Seems like I have to wait longer to see anyone. The sad thing is my appointment was at 8am. Then on top of that I can't remember the last time I saw an actual Dr. There. I do however like the convenience of having the lab and X-Ray there which means less time at the hospital waiting.
I had a video appointment on a Thursday and dropped off paperwork to be filled out by the doctor per my work. It’s been almost a week later and everytime I call i keep getting redirected to different people who redirect me to other people. Today is Tuesday and I called trying to find out if he filled them out yet and was pit on hold for 25 minutes only to be hung up on. I then called back and was put on hold for another 30 minutes and as soon as it turned to closing time i was hung up on again.
Medical staff and lab is great! However, the registration process stinks! You pre-register and it gets lost. They really need to get the bugs out of there registration process. The staff at the front desk really need to communicate with the lab folks. Why does the phlebotomist need to check the in box. While patients set and wait for 30 minutes. My wife was there and finally asked the phlebotomist, if she had paperwork after 30 minutes. The phlebotomist said no work orders and then had to light a fire with registration ladies. Come on registration staff do your job.
I have attempted twice over the last 3 weeks to get an appointment for dizziness that is new for me. I had a video visit with a PA who wanted to focus more on Covid testing than my symptoms, which was negative by the way. I just called again, can't get an appointment for 3 weeks. I am so done with this office!!
I went here for years and held the staff and doctors in high regard. My concerns were addressed, my phone calls were answered and the staff was courteous and knowledgeable. Fast forward a few years and they join Butler Health System. My ability to get a timely appointment was non-existent. I spent forever on the phone to speak with a real person because the online portal never worked. New staff was hired, I found them snarky and condescending. I even overheard them discussing me in a negative way in the hallway. Hello, HIPAA? The new hires replaced doctors, they suddenly became unavailable. The final straw was when I received a text notification from the pharmacy that a prescription was ready. It was antibiotic from one of the inept PA's I saw the previous week. I called Seneca Medical to find out why they called this in. I left messages daily, I even spoke to a nurse on more than one occasion. I kid you not, it took an entire week for the nurse to call me and explain they were prescribed because of recent blood work. If the judgmental PA spent even 5 minutes looking at my chart she would see that test is always high. I found a new compassionate DOCTOR and within weeks she was able to identify an autoimmune disease, and confirmed with proper lab tests. I received the proper medication not antibiotics and feel great after years of being treated like a hypochondriac and hearing what they really thought discussed outside my door. I always felt that Dr Fell was an excellent doctor, maybe if I was able to see him I wouldn't have wasted 2 years of my life out there.
***Updated 11/24/2020 - I did receive a call back from management explaining the situation and why things were so array at the time this was going on. I want to thank them publicly for addressing my concerns and explaining to me why there was such chaos. Although the reasoning for their services was taken up elsewhere; they still offered to assist in any way they could. Thank you for the follow up, it is much appreciated. - John H. 30+ minute wait times for a phone call... come on now... no call back as promised for 3 days straight now... you guys used to be great. Have you gotten to big for your small town?
EDIT 11/19/2020- My issue was passed along to someone who called me and was very polite and understanding with my frustrations. Seneca Medical Center is in the middle of updating a lot, so patience is needed a lot. They addressed that they still need to give people their options instead of just saying 'no', which I very much appreciate- getting an appointment canceled or moved is a lot better than just being told I can't have one. Hopefully their updates go smoothly for them. Looking forward to seeing how smoothly telehealth goes in a time when it is much needed, and getting on my way to feeling better.
Has to have some of the most ignorant, snotty receptionists I have ever met. I understand working in customer service, and how stressful it can become. But the way they treat patients walking in is absolutely saddening and unprofessional
