value sushi! if you want solid sushi but don't want to spend too much like at the restaurant. it's relatively on the cheaper/more reasonable side for pricing and the sushi itself is your standard good sushi. we got the salmon lover set, a classic. we also got the white dragon roll butterfish and the buy 1 get 1 hand roll, an offer they have at the moment. food was good, nothing overly impressive though.
For take out sushi it’s actually pretty good. Better than chains like Monkey, but not the best takeout sushi place in the city. Some of the items are pretty well priced, but others are a bit out of whack. The tuna sashimi pictured below was $9.5 for example. A little pricy for 4 pretty small pieces of tuna from a takeout only spot. The salmon lover platter was quite good however. 3.5 stars but Google doesn’t allow half stars lol.
This is a take out joint but the food is actually pretty good! I ordered through an app and got the salmon combo, avocado eel roll, and a chicken bento. It was enough for 1.5 meals for 2 people. I just wish the chicken had teriyaki sauce, but the meat is moist and well seasoned for chicken breast. The fish was fresh and the rolls were tasty. They didn't stuff the rolls with too much rice, fatty side cuts of salmon, or old avocados.
This unassuming sushi spot nested in this food hall area has some really bomb dynamite rolls! Such a great deal on Fantuan - look at that rice to filling ratio! Definitely an unexpected find and a place I’ll revisit for a quality and affordable lunch!
ordered take out and thebsize of the wasabi vs size of the sushi speaks for itself. Also, DO NOT BE FOOLED BY ITS relatively lower price, as shown in the picture, there is almost little to non bbq eel in the sushi roll. All you get is cucumber and avocado with a slight piece of eel that is smaller than your fingernail bits. When we ordered tofu inari sushi, their so-calles "three piece" is literally 1 Inari sushi cut into 3 slight pieces you see at a normal restaurant...MAJOR SCAM STAY AWAY I understand cost down initiatives to neutralize inflation, especially the Chinese's creative way of executing it, but this is pure scam and beyond what I have seen in any takeout places I have been
Wanted to try because of the good reviews but very disappointed. The quality wasnt good at all. There was maybe 10% of sushi inside the maki and the fried scrambles were way too hard my teeth hurt…
I just put in an $80 order of two combos for myself and a small group of friends and ALL of our rolls and sushi had chewable raw salmon meat in them as per the picture - the part that's almost skin. Also, a california roll had an avocado's pedicelo that one of my friends almost broke tooth on. The chewable salmon "fillet" part smelled awkward. Order at your own risk.
It’s nice take-out sushi place. But during one of my pick ups, the worker of COCO neighboring tea spot I believe was picking either fried onions or panko bits with his fingers and eating it several times…the fingers were touching the mouth to note. I tried to give gesture that it is unhygienic but he didn’t stop. Please utilize appropriate Food and Safety measures…not sure if I’ll come back
Great sushi and fair prices - excellent butterfish and salmon rolls are always delicious. Great service as well - great spot in midtown for sushi!
Like one of reviews already mentioned, I am disappointed they put panko Japanese flaky bread crumbs in their maki to look like tempura is part of their ingredient. The taste was awful due to putting too much panko in them.
