Sechelt Your Independent Grocer

Everything in the produce area looks like another store threw it out and YIG picked it up and sold it. I have bought rotten onions, potatoes and the carrots are also suspect. Their chopped salads have best before dates 2-3 days out a lot of time. None of the staff on the floor know where anything is. Please hire people with a brain! The prepared foods are pretty crap too. I have a heart attack at the prices whenever I go in there too. The cashiers are the best part of the store and that's why they are getting 2 out of 5 instead of 1. The bakery is usually out of fresh bread if you don't go in the morning and the flyer priced stuff is always out which is so frustrating. You need to step it up!

Their bakery is better than any Real Canadian Superstore or Safeway store I have ever been to. Fresh, tastier and good priced. We tried it for one breakfast then coming back home to Vancouver bought 5 packs of different things.

I had a wonderful interaction with an employee at self-checkout/ customer service on Friday. She had a long braid in her hair, and essentially she spotted me $3 that I was short on from the time I drove home to grab that cash. She saw me outside and told me to just pay it forward, and it was just such a lovely human experience, and it was from the goodness of her heart and I just had tow rite a review because it meant so much. She is an amazing employee and clearly a great human. Much love.
