Surprisingly more fun than anticipated! Went early in the season and we were the only one's there on a beautiful spring day. Camp has just enough sites, all with a little something unique about them and just enough buffer between them. Well water wasn't approved for use when we were there, but it's a pretty rustic campground and we brought enough in. There's water in town not far from camp if you found yourself in that scenario. Coyotes across the ravine at night and other fun animal sounds. Fun to kayak around the peninsula and the lake as well as lengthy trails. I think it's perfect for a night if you're in the area. Dog friendly as long as you follow common sense rules. Very well managed by a friendly host as well!

I'd like to say it was awful and you should NEVER go.... but that would be selfish and only to keep it for myself. It's actually a slice of heaven. The campground manager is an awesome guy, Vietnam vet and as helpful and personable as you could want. His name is Bob and we loved him. The water pump was not yet working for the season and he shared water with us. Wow. But please, for me, don't go. ; )

Lovely little rustic campground. Only problem is obnoxious locals who drop off their campers on Wednesday but then don't show up in person until Friday (because it is first come first served). Then the entire weekend they proceed to play radio music for hours and spray their bug foggers all around in an attempt to kill every living thing. The campground was totally full by 11am on Friday for Memorial Day weekend. There is a spot at the campground to launch kayaks but probably too shallow for canoes. For swimming, the best you can do is splash in the cool, clear Seaton Creek where it is shallow, unless you have a kayak to go out to Hodenpyl pond.

This is a great place to park your car or truck and go for a long hike on the trail.
