Story

Our office has been in the Seafair neighborhood for over 33 years and has grown up with the generations of residents in our area. We understand the expectations of our demographic and operate with respect for every patient who walks through our doors. We are good listeners and want to help you reach your dental health objectives within the confines of your budget.

Our office is distinguished by minimal wait times. We respect your time and as such, we do not double or overbook. Our dentist and hygienist see one patient at a time. We are experienced and proficient in our work and we are very punctual. Most of our patients are seated promptly with minimal or no wait time.

We are here to provide a service to you. We will try our best to explain the treatment and its rationale so that when we proceed, we can be on the same page. We provide a range of services but we believe in minimally invasive treatment. We will inform you what your needs are but we will never “sell” you anything you don’t need.

My first visit to Seafair Dental was in 1980 with Dr. Frederick Kwong and was my dentist until his retirement last year 2021. My whole family Mom, Dad, Sister have been going here for 40+ years, and now my family and my sister's spouses and children are clients. Our new Dentist is Dr. Alvin Choi, very professional and so friendly. For extremely gentle and thorough work PLEASE check them out.
The dentist team here Alvin and Jia are amazing! I was fortunate to have a good friend recommend me this dental office after my dentist of almost 40 years retired. My whole family appreciates their professional and friendly service. They always have time for their patient’s concerns and genuinely care for their clients.
My husband and I have been seeing Dr. Choi for our dental work for the past 2 years after we moved from Montreal. We find Dr. Choi very knowledgeable, competent, professional and yet friendly. He is calm, always patient, and he has the gentle touch of an eye surgeon. I consider oral health as important as body health. Whenever I have any questions regarding any dental issue, I discuss it with him and he takes the time to explain it to me with drawings. I am a visual person and so that helps. The staff is very polite and friendly too. We are very pleased with the service and we have already referred 2 friends.
Have been going for years and everyone is very friendly and accommodating. Appointments are almost always on schedule. I'm very happy with the level of service and will continue trekking into Richmond for my dental checkups!
Dr Alvin and Dr Jia are one of the most professional and caring dentist around. They really do care about the well being of all their patients from young to old... they have such great patience and are very articulate in what they do best. Very kids friendly and honest...will not tell you or proceed before they consult with you. Highly recommended..and they are very accommodating..
Friendliest and most helpful clinic I have come across. Been coming here for years. Husband / wife team are the best dentists, and best people, ever. True story: chipped one of my teeth late afternoon, and thought I could bear with it until the next day to make an appointment. Ended up being such a sharp chip that my tongue was getting cut up by the evening.. Dr. Choi ended up meeting me at the clinic, at 10pm at night far past closing, just to help me fix the chip, rather than having me wait until the next day when things could get worse. Will refer any friend and family to them, hands down.
My 11 year old son had a dental emergency that the dentist we deal with can not accommodate so I looked up online and came across Seafair dental. Dr Choi took my son in and had to extract his tooth. My son said everything was painless and fun. He also did an X-RAY and noticed that my son’s teeth need orthodontist visit ASAP. When I took my son to the orthodontist, the orthodontist was impressed and glad that the issue with my son’s teeth were noticed early. For the above, am so very greatful.
Dr. Choi is the best! I had my wisdom teeth removed by him and the experience was smooth. He is highly skilled and experienced. From the consultation to the procedure Dr. Choi explained things well and I felt very comfortable. My healing was uneventful. I’m a UBC student and they also offer student discounts for UBC students. Their price is very reasonable. Very satisfied!
Seafair Dental Centre is the BEST dental office ever. Dr Alvin Choi and Dr Hao is the most caring and gentle dentists you can find! I am afraid of the dentist myself and I can say dr choi is so gentle with his work! Dr Choi, Dr Hao and Dr Kwong genuinely cares about their patients and never tries to “up sell” anything . The hygienist and assistant there are amazinggg as well great patient care + very knowledgeable.
