Another great addition to Ajax! Seafood boil! Yes, please! We went for lunch on a Sunday and it wasn't busy at all. They have been open for 2 months and are still adjusting their offerings. The food was great...we ordered the Lemon pepper and Cajun platters which were both different but equally tasty. One platter will likely serve 2 people, there is plenty on there. The fries also had a great seasoning and dipping sauce. After an initial incident with a new server, the owner came over and was super helpful and sweet. They have coffee as well but unfortunately no dessert yet! She mentioned they were still looking to put in dessert offerings or something for the lunch/early morning crowd. Wish this small business the best! We will be returning! Bonus - halal! :
This review is a little overdue but i came here with my parents on Ash Wednesday to celebrate a birthday. It's a unique location: right in the GO station. There was only one server: a delightful, young Jamaican girl but the place wasn't busy. The server explained the menu to us and even made some recommendations on portion size. She definitely was a huge help. The food was very fresh and very tasty.. That butter sauce or garlic sauce they put on top is absolute crack.. Anyway, all of us concurred that we'd definitely return. Bonus: they gave us a free piece of cheesecake for the birthday and it was yummy too.
Perfect date night spot! Brought my boyfriend here without a reservation and although they were busy they accommodated us with no hassle I’ll reserve next time. All of the food was delicious and reasonably priced for seafood. We shared the lobster roll, dynamite shrimp, and a shrimp and lobster boil. Lobster roll was decadent and buttery, fries were perfectly crispy and seasoned. Dynamite shrimp were so flavourful, and the boil was delicious and generously portioned. Great service was the cherry on top. We love seafood and will be sure to visit again soon :
One word. INCREDIBLE. Tried Sea Salt today with our family, and everything was extremely fresh, delicious, and with great portions. We got 2x of the large buckets. We had 5 people in total and ordered 2x large buckets, a lobster roll, and calamari. We all left extremely full and was very satisfied with the friendly service and the quality of the food. My mother in law also commented on how fresh the seafood was, and the sauces were also super tasty. You can tell they know how to properly incorporate spices into their cooking, and it was done just right. We had the cajun style, and also the lemon pepper style. I believe they are also halal, and were accommodating of changes and requests too. Definitely check it out if you're in the area or well worth the drive if you're looking for some awesome food. Thank you Adam for the great service - we'll be back for sure! Parking: Shared parking with nearby GO Station. Plenty of room.
We really liked the food, ambience and the service. We ordered fried calamari, fried shrimp and calamari, lobster roll and one pound of shrimp bowl. All tasted well. The quality of the food and the quantity are enough to come back again. Front desk girl knows how to treat the customers when they arrive. The reservation system working well and we were able to book two days ago and got the confirmation message as well. We will come back soon to try other dishes. Keep up the good work guys! Parking: Enough parking lots
Decided to check this place out after my wife saw a video on tic tok about it. The plaza it's in seems to under renovation. The restaurant itself is nicely setup. Clean crisp modern decor. Even the bathroom is well kept and presentable. Should look into installing blinds though as the afternoon sun was blinding through the glass where the dining area is. Service was exceptional. The food was good but pricey for the portion size. We had the calamari & shrimp appetizer which was a small amount along with the large lobster boil which could have had more rice, potatoes and corn to make the plate more hardy and filling. As a new and upcoming business I hope they make the necessary adjustments to stay competitive. Hope to be back to try other menu items. Parking: Ample amount of parking. Wheelchair accessibility: Not wheelchair accessible.
Overall, I very good experience. My wife and I got the lobster roll, dynamite shrimp, and calamari. The calamari itself is fried perfectly with a crispy batter. My only criticism about it is that it lacks flavour by itself, but with the sauce, it’s not bad. The dynamite shrimp is skinless shrimp toss in a slightly spicy sauce. They don’t skimp out on the sauce. It tasted quite good. Last but not least, the lobster roll. The lobster is moist and the bun is super soft; it was quite good but it is small. It comes with fries and a garlic butter dip. The fries are a little ‘meh’, almost like Costco fries which I personally don’t like to begin with. But they do add some spices to it and some people may really like it. My wife and I were both happy after. We would come again for the boil next time. Total cost: around $70 including 15% tip
First time here today for some seafood the place is very clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. As you can see in the photos we ordered a lot of food for the 4 of us and we shared everything. We will definitely come again to eat and if you love seafood you should give it a try you will not be disappointed. My wife only wished the sauce was hotter but then again she says that about most places as she like to feel the burn
This place is GOOD. Like so good that I've been four times in one month. I've had the dynamite shrimp, lobster roll, sea salt bucket with sea salt sauce, fish and chips, and calamari. The ambiance is a solid 10/10. The music, the colours, the tables - its all paired so well and makes for a pleasant experience. Also, the bathrooms are very clean!! The food is fresh, well presented and tasteful. There was not one item on the menu I didn't like or didn't feel was finger licking good. I've also sat in the restaurant and gotten some work done as they also have a cafe! I imagine soon they'll introduce earlier hours to accommodate those who want to work out of the space. Overall, Sea Salt Seafood Cafe is amazing and eveyrone should pay a visit!
Suburban dining in Ajax is better than ever. I took my sister to celebrate her birthday at Sea Salt Cafe and the food was outrageously good. We had Fish and Chips, and their out-of-this-world 1/2 Shrimp Bucket. Just about everything we ate was deliciously flavourful. The “Sea Salt Butter Sauce” is a must. My advice: if you’re getting fries, get a side of their Sea Salt Butter Sauce to dip them in. Your heart will explode. Dare I say it… this place is better than Captain’s Boil. These guys know what they’re doing; check them out.
