Extremely kind and helpful staff. I only wish that there were more locations so that the schedule was more open since as of right now I’m waiting on a call to schedule my next appointment, but there’s nothing that anyone working here can do about that. Thank you for the quick and insightful exam, I look forward to when I can schedule my cleaning and fillings!
If I could give zero stars I would. I booked a appointment for tooth pain in two teeth. When I got there they couldn't find the appointment, or insurance that I verified before hand, then the dentist said oh I only have time for one tooth today. Looked at my tooth and said nothing is wrong. This is one of my last molars because I have lost all others. Previously I had said a tooth hurt and was told nothing was wrong, the next time I was I'm I was needing it lulled because it was beyond repair without a root canal. Then they billed me 300# for just looking. Clearly they didn't bill the insurance. Now I have to deal with that.
If you have ANY other options to avoid going here please do so. Rude and dismissive are only the tip of the iceberg. Nearly 4 months and three appointments later the ONLY thing that was done was an extraction. First appointment, despite explaining about 3 teeth only one tooth was X-rayed, the dentist looked at that one tooth only and said it needs to come out, when I asked about her looking at the two others it was very apparent it was a large inconvenience, they were glanced at and I was told “we have to do it next visit, we need to do X-rays.” Second visit 6 weeks later, the dentist never entered the room and no extraction nor examine on the other two teeth were done because of my “high” blood pressure told I had to reschedule and told I needed to go to my pcp before the next visit. Third appointment, 7 and a half weeks later, blood pressure was almost identical to second visit but extraction was done anyway, I once again asked about the other two teeth and yet again it was an inconvenience, reluctantly she looked at my other two teeth, first tooth “the filling fell out of this one and needs a crown” and second tooth “this one needs an X-ray but we can’t do that today.” My tooth to be extracted was then taken out, the dentist quickly left the room. 40 minute appointment, all and all I saw the dentist for maybe 8 minutes 7 of which she had an attitude. I was told to take ibuprofen/acetaminophen for pain by the dental assistant when she gave me the aftercare sheet of paper, I informed her I can not take either due to other medication I am on, the assistant excused herself to talk to the dentist about this, when she returned I was told “there’s nothing she can do she will not write any prescriptions, just take whatever medication you do for headaches,” I attempted to explain what the medication I take for headaches was/does but before I could get half way through my sentence I was interrupted and told rudely that “she will not write any prescriptions.” I then asked what am I supposed to do for pain, response “ if you’re still in pain in about three weeks let us know.” I was handed a bad with a few gauze pads and an ice pack by a person in training and told “ have a nice day.” There was no concern, compassion or even an attempt to schedule a visit for my other two teeth, not that I will EVER go back to this dentist.
I’m gonna give this a two. My first two appointments were just fine and they were nice. I went in for a cleaning and had the worst experience I’ve ever had when it comes to a dentist. I’m new to state insurance and this is the only place i could go to. Dr Lopez was extremely rude. When she was using a floss pick and scraper i pulled away because it was uncomfortable and i just didn’t like it she kept going and so i pulled back again and said the same thing. She said “well we do this with everyone so i don’t know what to tell you” Kept letting water go all over me and was just rude and didn’t care about my needs or how MY mouth was feeling when i expressed it. I will never go here again especially not to her.
Dr. Luau is awesome. The staff is super polite and bilingual. I would recommend this dentist office to anyone who is looking for speedy care. Only issue I have is the reception is not good at returning calls
I am not someone who complains much. I work in healthcare and I know what it’s like to have “difficult” patients, so I really don’t complain or argue with my providers. That being said, I was not treated with respect or dignity at this clinic. I would never treat any of my clients the way I was treated here. If I did, I’d definitely get fired, and rightfully so. The dentist I saw was very short and rude. Unfortunately, I have weak enamel due to genetics. I’ve always needed prescription toothpaste, ever since I was a child. When I came in and found out I had cavities after not having the prescription toothpaste, I asked for some. The dentist said quote, “well, the toothpaste isn’t going to help if you’re not using it”, and refused to give me a prescription. It’s not like I have gum disease or anything, I have pretty well taken care of teeth despite my genetic problems. Seriously, I can’t imagine what my teeth would be like if I didn’t brush and floss regularly. If that were the case, I probably wouldn’t have teeth anymore by now. The hygienist was rude too, asking me if I flossed at home, and when I said yes I do, and I also use a waterpik on top of regular flossing and brushing, she scoffed at me, as if I was lying. Additionally, the fillings I got at this clinic just over a year ago basically all have decay underneath them due to insufficient sealing of the filling. The dentist I saw also left grooves in two of my molars that she did fillings on that my current dentist now has to redo. Seriously, do NOT go here if you have to. I dont know what their problem is, but these people treat patients like s**t. If you’re on Medicaid, try community health care’s dental clinics if you can, where they will treat you with much more respect and dignity.
Nice front desk person. Very patient with me. Did an awesome job.
This provider ONLY does fillings. Incomplete, painful fillings that don't tend to heal properly. They will NOT treat any tooth that causes severe pain. A different excuse is given every time. Sometimes they will refer you to a more competent doctor, but often they will tell you that teeth with small problems cannot be saved so that they can take them away. Patients who genuinely NEED dental extractions are usually turned down. And let me make it clear, this provider does NOT offer any options to replace extracted teeth. I have already lost one tooth to them because I went in for pain and on my last visit they tried to get another out of me. Sea Mar dental is in the business of patient punishment.
I have had botched fillings done, and they have damaged morr of my teeth in e visits than i have ever had in my lifetime. I had to have a tooth pulled, and when I told the dentist that I get dry socket easily, they shrugged me off. I had to come back 3 days later with massive pain so they could check for infection. Doing so- without warning, the dentist that was on at that time decided to create a new scab. NO WARNING. I have severe anxiety going to the dentist in the first place. Now, I never ever want to see another dentist in my life. When I went for a checkup initially, they were poking at my teeth. Which I knew they shouldn't have done. Now all the teeth they poked at, I now have to have massive work done to repair the damage. This is just the tip of the iceberg.
I was given a complete denal exam and cleaning. Very satisfied.
