This campground is so beautiful, relaxing, tranquil place I’ve ever been with my family. My dad, his brothers & sisters grew up having fun in these mountains & I can see why. You could hear cows in the distance, squirrels all over the place, & a baby chipmunk running around. The campgrounds were spaced out more than comfortably & our camp was clean when we arrived. The atmosphere was so pretty & so many different trees flowers & plants to look at.
Great place to camp or do a picnic. Not alot of bugs and was super clean. The attendants are "friendly" but very attentive with their constant rounds.
Beautiful campground near the top of scout Mountain.. surrounded by old-growth pine trees and beautiful wild flowers. The views are breathtaking there Pit toilets could use a little attention but they were doable. Each campsite came with a picnic table and a fire ring. My site was all concrete so I was level. It was very peaceful and I would definitely return.
Been camping here for over 30 years. It is beautiful. Great place to spend time with the family and relax. Haven't had any issues over the years until recently. The new host has clearly never worked a day in customer service in her life. She was extremely rude, greedy and power hungry. Whoever gave her the keys should think again cause the way she treated my family and I was completely inappropriate and unnecessary. My family and I will not be returning until they get a new host. We are also unable to recommend this campground to others for this reason.
Booked a site on Reservation.gov using the site description to choose a site that would fit our rig. We selected site 003 as it claimed an available lenght of 45'. After arriving here's the issues we encountered. 1. At the entrance to the campground it says Loops A, B and C to the left and loop D to the right. But our site was number 003 so is that A3, B3, C3, or D3? There's no map of the campground at the entrance or anywhere else on-site so we chose the most likely area and turned left. 2. All the loop roads are very narrow and currently overgrown with tree branches and shrubs. To the point where the side of your vehicle will be brushed as you drive through. 3. We quickly found site number 003 but because of the narrow road, overgrowth of vegetation, and angle into the site there's no way we could back the trailer into the site. It doesnt matter how long the site is if you can't make the backing turn into it. 4. We ended up circling all four Loops of the campground scratching the sides of our truck and trailer as we went to find a site that could accommodate our rig. But it was of no use. Would have liked to ask the campground host, but the sign said they were off duty. Mind you this was 4:30 in the afternoon. 5. I canceled the reservation on recreation.gov. Of course there was no refund because of the late hour. And because I canceled the reservation, that means I can't make a comment on the recreation.gov website. It's now 5:30 PM, we're out $23 and have no place to stay for the night.
It was cool the bathrooms are really clean. I just like water and it really didn't offer it! Otherwise great campground. Some sites were very cool from the shade trees everywhere, which was nice in July!
Love the lookout trail. Beautiful area. Close to Pocatello. We come up here for nice nature drives and to beat the summer heat.
Nice hike but stick to the paved road on the way up if you don't have 4wheel drive. We followed a faster route according to Google maps but we were in a passenger car the was not able to drive the roads that were recommended.
Beautiful group campground with plenty of room for our family reunion. The part that ruins the whole experience was the camp host running their generator from 6:20 am to 10 pm NON STOP.
We had A-blast clean campsites friendly people It was a lot of fun.
